Fans of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 spent £30 to purchase the Burger King skin in the game.
This fast food chain is currently conducting a promotion that links game companies to allow players to purchase a meal from " Call of Duty ", providing free in-game operator skins (Virtual Hamburger Town T-shirts) and a 1-hour "Modern War 2" dual XP.
Codes for these in-game extra items are now on eBay, with most of the list for sale ranging from £20 to £40, and (interestingly) not always including postage. Some are even higher.
This promotion is carried out in 40 countries around the world, but does not include the United States and the United Kingdom. Most of the products on
eBay come from all over Europe (Germany, Spain, Netherlands , France) and Australia, and some from the United States.
If a burger king castle is about £5 (depending on where you live), then its skin and experience value is equivalent to 6 burgers. Or about half the price of the game.
Of course, Hamburg Town is a long-term easter egg in the series, so the operator skin is a fun extra. But what about the extra fun of £30?
It is not clear why the United States and the United Kingdom are not on the promotion, but obviously there are enough fans in these countries who are eager for burger shirts – a large number of burger leather can be bought on eBay in the United States, according to PCGamer.
Activision Blizzard Chief Marketing Officer Fernando Machado shared on Twitter that some restaurants are even packaged by the Call of Duty brand. This is the Call of Duty restaurant in Puerto Rico , and Burger King should be here.
"Modern War 2" was officially released recently, even if its battle is "huge, bold, and a little boring".
