Yesterday, at the 2022 Digital Economy Summit and New Infrastructure Innovation Development Conference hosted by Henan Provincial People's Government and jointly hosted by Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government and Henan Provincial Development and Reform Commission , the Henan Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Chinese Academy of Information and Communications Research jointly released the "Henan Province Digital Economy Development Report (2022)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report"). "Report" shows that the digital economy has become an important driving force for the transformation and upgrading of various industries of the national economy and the realization of high-quality development, and has become a key engine to drive national economic growth. In 2021, the scale of my country's digital economy reached 45.5 trillion yuan, more than double the expansion from the early stage of the 13th Five-Year Plan, with a nominal increase of 16.2% year-on-year, 3.4 percentage points higher than the nominal growth rate of GDP, and its proportion of GDP reached 39.8%.

In 2021, the scale of industrial digitalization in Henan Province exceeded 1.45 trillion yuan, a nominal increase of 15.4% year-on-year, an increase of 8.5 percentage points from the previous year; the proportion of GDP increased from 23% last year to 24.8%, and the proportion of digital economy increased from 83% last year to 83.6%, nearly 2 percentage points higher than the national average in the same period.
Judging from the penetration rate of three industries, in 2021, the penetration rate of digital economy in our province's three industries has increased compared with the previous year, reaching 5.6%, 17.9% and 34.5% respectively.
The report also mentioned that Henan’s digital economy still has a lot of room to improve. For example, from the perspective of development growth rate, in 2021, the growth rate of our province's digital economy was 14.6%, 1.6 percentage points lower than the national average growth rate (16.2%). Judging from the proportion of GDP, in 2021, the proportion of digital economy in our province's GDP was 29.6%, which narrowed its gap with the national average, but it was still 10 percentage points lower than the national average.
