Gansu Yumen Pumped Storage Power Station Project is a key pumped storage project determined by the National "14th Five-Year Plan" Renewable Energy Medium- and Long-Term Plan" and a major project listed in Gansu Province in the "14th Five-Year Plan" Province. This project is located in Changma Town, Yumen City, Jiuquan City, , and is invested and constructed by State Grid Xinyuan Holdings Co., Ltd.
The total investment of this project is 10.166 billion yuan. It mainly builds buildings such as Shangshui Reservoir, Xiashui Reservoir, water transport system, ground factory system, etc. The construction period is 90 months, with an installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts. It has installed 4 vertical shaft single-stage mixed flow reversible water pump turbines with a single capacity of 300,000 kilowatts. The Shangshui Reservoir adjusts the storage capacity of 8.24 million cubic meters, the Xiashui Reservoir adjusts the storage capacity of 8.37 million cubic meters, the total length of the water transport system pipeline is 3,743 meters, and the rated head is 425 meters.
After the project is completed and put into operation, the annual power generation will be about 1.528 billion kWh, which can save 504,200 tons of coal burning annually, reduce carbon dioxide emissions 1.3563 million tons, reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by 8,100 tons, and become sulphur dioxide emissions by 0.81 million tons. Jiuquan 0 million kilowatt-level new energy base is an important peak-shaving power supply . It mainly undertakes a variety of tasks such as peak shaving, valley filling, energy storage, frequency regulation, phase regulation and emergency accident backup in Gansu power grid. It is of great significance to curb the fluctuations in wind power output, improve the development and consumption capacity of new energy such as wind power, ensure the safe and stable operation of the transmission system, improve the economical power transmission of long-distance power, and realize the safe, energy-saving and economic operation of Gansu power grid and transmission platform.
