Recently, the signing ceremony for the procurement of Dakar bus rapid transportation PPP project new energy vehicle was held in Paris, France. CRRC Hong Kong Company and CRRC Electric signed 121 18-meter electric buses, related supporting equipment and 15-year maintenance contracts with Dakar Mobility SA.
Director of the Transportation Bureau of the Ministry of Interior of Senegal, Director of the Meridiam Investment Fund , Director of Matthew, owner, Dakar Transportation Company, Weiss, Assistant to the President of CRRC , Ning Wenze, Chairman of CRRC Hong Kong Company, and Deputy General Manager Anton Lecht attended the signing ceremony. Meredim, one of the owners' holding parties, is one of the world's largest infrastructure investment funds, managing approximately US$18 billion in assets worldwide. At the ceremony, Cerno said that CRRC is the world's leading transportation equipment manufacturer with excellent technology and management capabilities. Senegal attaches great importance to cooperation with CRRC and looks forward to the two sides continuing to deepen and expand comprehensive cooperation in the fields of new energy vehicles, rail transit and wind power on the basis of this project. The owner Dakar Transportation Company said that the choice to cooperate with CRRC was made through strict bidding procedures and recognition of CRRC's brand strength. He firmly believed that CRRC would definitely deliver products at high quality and was willing to continue to carry out in-depth cooperation with CRRC in the fields of electric buses and new energy.
Ning Wenze said in his speech that CRRC has always adhered to the responsibility of "connecting the world and benefiting mankind" and guided by the concept of green, low-carbon and sustainable development, forming a digital and intelligent system solution with CRRC's characteristics to support the full life cycle. CRRC will fully support CRRC Hong Kong Company and CRRC Electric and Dakar Transportation Company to carry out efficient and pragmatic cooperation, use high-quality products and services to fulfill their commitments, and contribute CRRC's strength to Dakar's economic and social development and urban transportation construction. It is also hoped that the two sides will use this project as a bridge to strengthen friendly cooperation, expand their business areas, and inject new vitality into friendly economic, trade and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
This project is the first BRT line built in Dakar, the capital of Senegal. The total length of the line is 18 kilometers. It is implemented in the PPP model, with a franchise period of 15 years. This project is also the first rapid bus project in West Africa , and it has very important strategic significance for changing urban transportation in Dakar. This signing is the first time that CRRC has introduced new energy vehicles into the PPP project. This will surely accumulate experience in urban transportation equipment overseas, form new breakthroughs in industrial layout and market expansion, and contribute to CRRC's strategic positioning of "one nuclear, two business, first-class" and "one nuclear, three poles, and multiple points" industrial layout.
