The project was founded by local “next generation billionaires” Kiat Lim, 29, and Elroy Cheo, 37. Kiat is the son of local billionaire Peter Lim. Elroy is part of the family behind cooking oil business Mewah International. Entertainment enthusiasts also know that Elroy once dated Taiwanese singer Elva Hsiao.

An article in Forbes pointed out that Kiat's entrepreneurial experience includes cooperating with his father to launch ZujuGP, a digital community centered around football and supported by Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo .

Elroy is described as dabbling in cryptocurrencies and NFTs. He is also a self-taught Web3 expert.

According to the press release, ARC hopes to jointly build Asia’s leading NFT brand by “bringing the best of the Web2 and Web3 worlds together.” It is also hailed as Asia’s first app-based tokenized community.

In a statement, JJ shared that he was excited to be a part of the ARC movement.

"It is the only community today that brings together an extremely diverse group of people with a strong goal of growth and co-creation. That's what really inspired me to take a very active role in this project as a co-founder," He said.

In an interview with Forbes, Kiat referenced the recent cryptocurrency crash, saying: "We want to promote adoption among non-crypto natives who may be a little distrustful of the space because of all the news right now."
