I never dreamed that if you are over fifty years old, you can still be a student in the university. Moreover, this university is not a wild school, but a famous university that is well-known in China and abroad - Sun Yat-sen University .
To be honest, I have attended many universities in my life, such as "Academy of Armored Soldier Engineering", " Armored Soldier Command College ", "Nanjing Army Command College", etc. Although these schools are not very famous, they are all military academies, which are well-known within the army and not well-known outside the army. Being able to study at a local university, especially at a famous university like Sun Yat-sen University, was once a dream of my feelings.
Speaking of Sun Yat-sen University, I am actually not unfamiliar with her and have already made connections. It was the early 1980s. I just became an officer and studied in crash courses. After graduation, I didn’t have a national diploma. In that era when diplomas determine everything, there is no future without diplomas, and I am young and full of hope for the future. It happened that the CUHK organized a journal to teach. I applied to a Chinese college and took the exams of both party history and philosophy. I got 75 points in party history and 59 points in philosophy. I didn’t get one point away and felt heartbroken for several days. Later, I was admitted to the instructor class of the "Armored Soldier Command Academy", so I gave up my junior college degree. Although I failed to become a graduate of CUHK, the plot of CUHK has taken root in my heart since then.
I have to thank the District Party Committee Organization Department for its innovative decision-making when participating in the CUHK study this time. In order to improve the awareness of leading cadres on the construction of new urbanization, the Organization Department of the District Party Committee commissioned Sun Yat-sen University to organize this training called " Huadu District Leading Cadres' New Urbanization Development Special Training Class". The entire training is divided into three periods, each period is five days. We are the last period, and all participants are district and department cadres above.
The Organization Department of the District Party Committee attaches great importance to this training class. The leaders of the department not only participated in each opening ceremony, but Minister Ye Zhiliang also personally mobilized the students, emphasizing that this training "is a need of Guangzhou's development strategy, a need for the overall development of Huadu , and a need for personal growth and progress"; he asked everyone to "cherish opportunities, study hard; think actively, communicate with each other; adjust the body and relax"; he hopes that every student must "work hard, innovate, and contribute" in his future work. The District Party Committee Organization Department also set up a leading group to be responsible for the training work, ensuring the successful completion of the entire training task.
Although the five days of study were not long, we gained a lot. In the words of my classmates, I became a college student, tempered discipline, enhanced friendship, learned knowledge, broadened my horizons, and adjusted my body and mind.
This CUHK training has rich content, outstanding themes and outstanding effects. CUHK has set up six issues for us, including "mental health and self-regulation", "building modern and beautiful villages and doing everything possible to increase farmers' income", "emergency management and media response to emergencies ", "macroeconomic situation and smart city construction", "leadership art", and "China's political status and hot issues".
In order to improve the quality and effectiveness of training, CUHK also specially invited famous professors and theoretical authorities for us, including , Sun Luoping, , Department of Economics, Lingnan College, Lingnan College, CUHK, Associate Professor Zhang Ning, Department of Public Communication, School of Communication and Design, CUHK, Associate Professor Tan Ankui, School of Political and Public Affairs Management, and Professor Zhang Xiaoyuan, Department of Psychology, Southern Medical University. In addition, Director Liu Xianen of the Municipal Agriculture Bureau and Secretary-General Zeng Yuanfeng of the former Municipal Party Committee were also invited.
These professors and authorities are all well-educated people and have profound attainments and achievements in their respective fields. They either have passionate passion, talk in a leisurely manner, or have a broad perspective, or have a simple and easy-to-understand manner, talk nonsense and humor, passing on what they have learned to us without reservation. After a few days, I deeply felt that although five days are not long, I learned a lot of knowledge. It is really "listening to a teacher's lesson is better than reading ten years." We have reason to believe that through the five-day study of CUHK, our district’s leading cadres will definitely improve their theory, broaden their horizons, and enhance their abilities.
In addition to learning a lot of knowledge during this CUHK study, we also gained the cultivation of team spirit and the training of organizational discipline.
I remember when I received the notice of participating in the CUHK training, I laughed secretly, thinking that so many leaders went to the training, it was probably a paid college trip. Because our army has a catchphrase, "Those who are in the army are afraid of being single, and those who are in the officials are afraid of being in groups." Unexpectedly, my old experience failed this time.
On the day of the training, we rushed to Zhongda Zhuhai Campus after lunch from Zhongda Guangzhou South Campus. We thought we could have a nap after arriving in Zhuhai, but things were not so beautiful. When we arrived at the Zhuhai campus, the teacher sent us camouflage uniforms before we put down our luggage, and stipulated that we must wear camouflage uniforms and gather downstairs within ten minutes. At that time, I was really worried about my old classmates. I was an old soldier. Of course, these were a piece of cake for me, but those old classmates were sitting on the rostrum every day. Can they come out on time? I had a big question mark in my mind.
My movements were fast. I arrived at the meeting point in less than nine minutes, but I never expected that the other students were faster than me. They had already finished line-up in camouflage uniforms. The earliest ones were our team cadres. As soon as I went downstairs, I saw from a distance that the team cadres such as Tong Zhihui, deputy team leader Chen Yaobin, group leader He Qiang, group leader He Wanyun, group leader He Wanyun, group leader Lu Ruhui, group leader fourth, Yang Guanxian, and group leader fifth, Zhang Wenyi and other team cadres were already standing in the vanguard position with high spirits.
That afternoon, the subject arranged by CUHK for us was expansion training. Expansion training is actually to cultivate team spirit and be implemented in groups. The subject settings include both intellectual games and physical movements, and the training requirements are as high as that of military academy. The teacher stipulates that whenever someone in the team speaks and does not obey the instructions, the team leader must do push-ups, and the number depends on the number of people who commit fouls.
At first, everyone disagreed, but when the two team leaders had to do push-ups because of the speech of the students in the group, the entire team suddenly became quiet and serious. In the following group competition, the groups rushed to the forefront and worked together, fearing that they would be the "deputy class monitor". The entire training ground would become a sea of unity, a sea of competition, a sea of progress, and a sea of joy. If the silver threads above the students' heads were not fluttering in the wind from time to time, people would have thought it was a group of college freshmen expanding!
The last subject of expansion training is walking on the rope, which is the most memorable training content we remember in the five-day training of CUHK. Walking on the rope is actually very simple. Place a closed climbing rope in the training ground. All students form a circle around the rope, hold the climbing rope firmly with both hands, tighten the rope, and then select students to walk on the rope.
This time we selected two classmates, one man and one woman, to participate in the walk. The first person to take the ropes was Yu Yanming, a beautiful female classmate. When the students saw the beautiful girl coming on the ropes, everyone laughed and said happily, and they all became more energetic, for fear that the beautiful girl would fall in front of them. Yan Ming ran on the rope lightly, while smiling and saying "Thank you", and soon completed his mission amid the praise of his classmates.
The next walk Gao Manjia can make everyone suffer a little. You should know that Manjia is a heroic man with nearly 200 kilograms. Everyone should be motivated when walking in front of anyone. Facing Manjia who is like a mountain gradually coming, the students only have one idea. They should use force and force, tighten and tighten, and they cannot let Manjia fall down, and they cannot let the whole class's expansion training make a fool of themselves. With the cheers of the students, Manjia calmly responded and firmly reached the end, which put a perfect end to our rope walking subject.
