Medical School is the main part of the layout of the Shenzhen campus of Sun Yat-sen University's advantageous medical department. It is one of the main construction units of the first-level disciplines of " double first-class " in basic medicine and clinical medicine . It was adjusted and established by the former Basic Medical College (Shenzhen) and Clinical Medicine College (Shenzhen) on May 11, 2017. The original college was established in August 2016 and is the first college to be built and recruited in Shenzhen campus.

The School of Medicine will adopt a "application-assessment" enrollment method based on comprehensive quality and ability assessment in 2023. Applicants must register and submit application materials in accordance with Sun Yat-sen University's 2023 Doctoral College Admissions Charter and the relevant requirements of the School of Medicine.
1. Application conditions
1. Support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, have the correct political direction, love the motherland, and are willing to serve the socialist modernization construction, abide by laws and regulations, and have good conduct.
2. Personnel who have obtained a master's degree and fresh master's graduates (must obtain a master's degree at the latest before admission). If a fresh master's graduate does not obtain the nationally recognized master's degree certificate before admission, the admission qualification will be invalid.
3. There are two experts who have associate senior or above professional and technical positions related to the subject they are applying for.
4. Candidates must pass the certification of the Ministry of Education Study Abroad Service Center when applying for the examination with an academic certificate obtained from overseas. A certification report must be submitted during qualification review (the latest must be submitted before admission).
5. Have a strong interest in academic research, strong scientific research ability, and English proficiency meets at least one of the following conditions:
(1) have published professional academic papers in English (no author ranking);
(2) pass the university English CET-6 exam , or the new TOEFL score ≥90 (old TOEFL ≥580), or the IELTS score ≥6.0 points;
6. Candidates applying for a Ph.D. in Engineering (086000 Biology and Medicine) must have a good theoretical foundation in engineering technology and strong engineering practice abilities or potential in related fields.
Candidates applying for a doctorate in targeted employment engineering generally should obtain a master's degree and must work for more than 3 years after graduation or more than 6 years after graduation from a master's degree. It is required to have a good theoretical foundation in engineering technology and strong engineering practice ability, preside over and undertake engineering technology research projects, or actually participate in major scientific research projects related to the field of application.

6. Comprehensive Assessment

1, written test
written test is arranged by the college to test the unified basic knowledge and basic ability, and the content covers basic theoretical knowledge and the methodological basic knowledge required to engage in academic research. The written test time is 3.5 hours. The written test includes two aspects: English (including basic English and professional English), professional field related knowledge, and other aspects. The full score of English is 100 points, and the full score of relevant knowledge in professional field is 200 points, totaling 300 points.
2, interview
interview includes foreign language application ability assessment and professional ability assessment. Candidates participating in the interview must prepare a PPT for about 20 minutes, and the applicant will give a report to the interview group, including personal scientific research experience and results introduction, understanding and views on the research field to be engaged in, ideas and reasons for the research work they intend to conduct, etc. Each person will have no less than 40 minutes of interview, with a total interview score of 300 points.
7. Admission
1. The total score is the sum of the written test scores and interview scores. The recommended admission list will be determined in order according to the total score from high to low, and will be announced after being reviewed by the graduate school.
