Recently, Fu Kang, a student of pharmacy in School of Life Sciences, Hubei University, stood out in the Tsinghua University summer camp interview with his outstanding scientific research ability and thinking ability. He was admitted to Tsinghua University pharmacy in majoring in pharmacy in drug chemistry qualification and obtained the " direct blog " qualification.

However, being able to "directly" Tsinghua is more due to Fu Kang's love and persistence in medicine and pharmacy.

I often got sick when I was young, which made Fu Kang become a pharmaceutical research industry since he was a child. After the college entrance examination, he was admitted to the pharmacy of Hubei University as he wished. "Doctors are people on the battlefield, and those who study drugs are reserve forces for 'producing weapons'." In Fu Kang's view, pharmacy is a highly interdisciplinary subject that requires solid theoretical and practical knowledge. After three years of studying in college, he was accustomed to sitting in the front row in class, and insisted on sorting notes after class, remembering knowledge points, and building a complete knowledge system. The weighted average score in the first three years reached 90.16 points, 31 of the 58 courses exceeded 90 points, and professional courses such as drug analysis, pharmacology , natural medicinal chemistry and other professional courses are close to full marks.

"Pharmaciology is an experimental subject. In addition to learning book knowledge, scientific research practice is also indispensable." In his freshman year, under the guidance of his supervisor Peng Zhihong, Fu Kang began his own scientific research journey. During his undergraduate studies, he participated in two topics: the synthesis of tributaryl derivatives targeted to NQO1 metabolism and the synthesis of tributaryl derivatives targeted to anti-lung cancer activity, and the synthesis of water-soluble tributaryl derivatives and the synthesis of tributaryl derivatives, and was committed to studying the targeted effect of tributaryl derivatives on anti-tumor.

Three years of undergraduate degree, except for class time, Fu Kang is basically in the laboratory. When he was a junior year, the topic he participated in - the synthesis and anti-cancer activity research of water-soluble triptyxon derivatives - encountered a bottleneck period. He and his senior brother left the laboratory at nearly 12 a.m. every day, and finally successfully purified the compound through Prep-HPLC (preparative high-performance liquid chromatography), breaking through the bottleneck period.

"Scientific research is when you have done hundreds or thousands of experiments, but you may only succeed once, or even never succeed, but we cannot give up." Fu Kang said. Based on the achievements he obtained in the laboratory, he participated in the National College Life Science Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the National College Life Science Competition (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Category) and other competitions during his sophomore and junior year, and won national awards.

In the school’s summer social practice special event for college students “Doing into rural revitalization and helping healthy China”, Fu Kang joined the Hubei University’s early tumor diagnosis and testing status survey and tumor common sense promotion practice team. They went to Wuhan University of Technology and other universities’ laboratories, Tongji Hospital’s Department of Oncology, etc. for field research.

"At present, my country's early tumor diagnosis technology is developing slowly, and the earlier the tumor is discovered, the easier it is to treat it, but many people do not understand the relevant knowledge." In the Oncology Department of Tongji Hospital, he witnessed the pain of cancer patients being seriously ill, and strengthened his determination to fight for the cause of medicine.
