The eyes are the window of the child’s soul and the first organ to discover the beauty of the world. In order to enhance the awareness of eye protection for first-grade students, improve the quality of students' eye exercises , and promote students to develop good behavioral habits to protect their eyesight and prevent myopia, on October 14, 2022, Hexi No. 1 Affiliated Primary School of Nanwai held the "Flashing, Shining, We Are All Little Stars" eye exercises competition for first-grade students. This competition requires students to: always close their eyes and be upright during exercises; their hands should be clean and their nails should be cut short; acupoints and movements should be correct; the beats should be correct and the force should be moderate.
Amid the music of eye exercises, the students were full of energy, correct posture, standardized movements, and uniform. At the same time, the class teacher also promptly guided the students who were not very standardized in a timely manner.
The judges group consisting of school leaders, sports group and health care teachers went deep into each participating class for evaluation, including personal hygiene, preparation posture, exercise points, techniques, rhythm, classroom discipline, etc.
Finally, the competition awarded four of the "Beautiful Star Award" and four of the "Nequivalent Shining Award", and awards were presented to the winning classes during the morning meeting.
Through the eye exercises competition, the quality of eye exercises for students has been significantly improved, effectively completing the purpose of holding eye exercises competitions, which has enabled students to enhance their eye love awareness, and at the same time, it has also enhanced their sense of responsibility, cohesion and collective honor.
In the future, the school will also publicize the importance and good methods of protecting eyes through class activities, health propaganda columns, radio stations and other channels, so that children can establish a good awareness of eye love and eye protection from an early age, and truly develop good habits of using hygienic eyes and scientific eyes.
