Ma Yuanchang is a junior student in the School of Pharmacy of Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences), and the class leader of Class 20-1, Pharmacy major. In the results of the 8th Shandong Province " Internet + " College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition recently announced by Shandong Provincial Department of Education , the participating team he formed won the provincial gold medal. In fact, in the 7th "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, he had already led the team to achieve good results of the provincial silver award, and he was still a sophomore at that time. Why can I achieve such good results after two years of university experience? In addition to my own efforts, Ma Yuanchang concluded: "My achievements are mainly due to the school (college) integration policy. The pharmacy major is a specialty for integrating science and education. In the freshman stage, we can freely choose teachers from the school or the science college as our scientific research tutor. According to my interests, I chose Teacher Yu Shuai from the drug crystallization team as my scientific research tutor, and participated in the project of the research group from the freshman stage. In the meantime, we took advantage of the opportunity of winter and summer vacations to go to the Shandong Provincial Analytical and Testing Center for research. At the beginning, we encountered some difficulties. We thought that the results that were paid attention to in experiments, but gradually we found that the experiments should pay more attention to the process. Complete experimental plans and pre-experiments are the key to the success of the experiment. Without strict control of the process, we will not make rigorous and reliable results at all. To thoroughly optimize the process of a drug, we must calculate from a few months to a year. Failure is inevitable. The failure process only proves that the previous experiments require detailed adjustments, which is also a problem that may actually be encountered in the actual production process of enterprises." The scientific research team where Ma Yuanchang is located is the "Pharmaceutical and Crystallization Process Innovation and Intelligent Control Innovation Team" of Shandong Province Analysis and Testing Center. With the work philosophy of "serving pharmaceutical companies and supporting human health", the team is committed to solving common problems in the field of drug crystallization, and based on the mechanism of drug crystallization, it achieves amplification of industrial processes. The team has established good cooperative relationships with Fukang Pharmaceutical, Ruiyang Pharmaceutical , Lizhu Pharmaceutical, Lunan Pharmaceutical , Runde Biological and other companies. The crystallization processes of more than 20 kinds of drug developed have been successfully piloted and produced.
The deeds of Ma Yuanchang are just a microcosm of the integration of science and education at Qilu University of Technology ( Shandong Academy of Sciences ). Since the integration of science and education in 2018, Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences) has adhered to the fundamental principle of "cultivating morality and cultivating people", continuously deepened institutional and mechanism reforms, gave full play to the leading role of disciplines, and actively explored the integration of scientific research talents, scientific research platforms, academic activities, and industrial drives into talent training, and promoted the deep integration of scientific research and teaching, which has formed a benign interaction. By the end of 2021, the school (college) launched a new model of reform of the academic and department system, integrating teaching and research institutions with the same or similar disciplines, and established 14 physical operation departments including the Department of Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals. The Department of Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals is formed by the merger of three departments: the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, the Shandong Analytical and Testing Center and the School of Pharmaceuticals.
