In July 2019, I was fortunate to be a member of a new batch of educational talents in Shanghai’s “group-style” assistance team to Tibet, and went to Tibet to do my best for local education. During the period of aid to Tibet, I contributed my own strength to the Shanghai Experimental School in Shigatse City in terms of school education and teaching, mental health education and information construction.
Adapting to life on the plateau and taking root in Tibet education.
From Shanghai, with an average altitude of 4 meters, to Shigatse, with an average altitude of more than 3,800 meters. The altitude sickness in my body was very strong, but with my firm belief in aiding Tibet, I recovered in a short time. I overcame the high anti- and issues and devoted myself to school work. I am responsible for teaching management such as class scheduling, teaching research, and invigilation of aid teachers to ensure that the teaching work of Shanghai Experimental School in Shigatse City can be carried out better. Every day, I take the first bus to school. On Saturdays, other Tibet teachers have classes, and I will accompany them to school. Due to sick leave, living in villages, etc., there was a serious shortage of teachers in the history, biology and other subjects of the junior high school. I mobilized the teachers of Chinese, mathematics, physics and other subjects among the Tibetan aid teachers to take charge of the history, biology and other subjects of the first and second grades. In the special period when there was a shortage of teachers, I also took on the teaching tasks of history and biology courses, ensuring the smooth development of teaching in the junior high school. I compiled a separate curriculum schedule for teachers in aid of Tibet, and made statistics on each teacher’s class, morning and evening reading and main class time, total class hours, and other information, so as to facilitate the arrangement, adjustment, and optimization of the curriculum for teachers in aid of Tibet. I also assisted the school in conducting seminars, exhibitions, and exchange activities on teaching; during the epidemic, I organized teachers in aid of Tibet to actively conduct online teaching, and the online online classroom was recognized by the students.
In terms of teaching management, I insist on people-oriented and system construction as the normative management, and strive to create a school education and teaching management system with scientific and standardized management, scientific and standardized evaluation system, and continuous innovation of teaching methods, and introduce Shanghai's advanced education and management concepts into Shigatse Shanghai Experimental School. As the dean of academic affairs, I insist on promoting the school's information-based education, introducing the academic scheduling system and the student performance analysis system, participating in the daily education and teaching management of the third-year junior high school graduating class, conducting relevant lectures and teaching inspections, and participating in simulations, midterms, and Conduct quality analysis meetings on important exams such as finals and put forward reasonable opinions and measures for improving education and teaching based on their own experience. With the joint efforts of local teachers, the school's high school entrance examination results in 2020 and 2021 have remained first in Tibet for two consecutive years.
Pay attention to mental health and build a unique system
As a psychological teacher who aids Tibet, I have the certificates of national second-level psychological counselor and Shanghai school intermediate psychological counselor . I am very concerned about the psychology of Tibetan children in the school. Health status, through in-depth understanding of Tibetan students, I found that Tibetan children also have problems in interpersonal communication, study pressure, test anxiety, adolescent rebelliousness, etc. Schools urgently need to establish a complete mental health education system. I combined the working methods in Shanghai schools with the characteristics of students in Tibetan schools to build the own mental health education curriculum and work system of Shanghai Experimental School in Shigatse. Using the time in the eighth-grade activity class, I tried to teach psychology classes in Class 8 (6), choosing psychological class content suitable for Tibetan children. As the high school entrance examination is approaching, the test anxiety and study weariness of the third-grade students have increased. Based on the actual situation of the students, I organized lectures on pre-examination psychological adjustment to enhance students' self-confidence in the high school entrance examination, and also taught them how to deal with simple psychological problems. The students' enthusiastic response also strengthened my determination to establish a school mental health education system.Therefore, I set up mental health education courses in the junior high school, and built a special lecture for students, individual consultation and psychological work training system for class teachers; established student mental health files; established a school psychological crisis intervention system to conduct psychological diagnosis for all students in the school, which will exist Registration of psychologically abnormal students. Through systematic mental health education initiatives, Tibetan students in schools can grow up healthier and happier.
At the same time, relying on the Shanghai Education Aid Team, I radiated student mental health education work to various counties in Shigatse City, and held pre-examination psychological counseling for junior high school graduating students in Gyantse, Sakya and other counties. Lectures. The "Shanghai-Everest Education Quality Alliance" composed of Shanghai Experimental School in Shigatse City and Yadong County Middle School, Gyantse Minhang Middle School, Sakya County Middle School, Lazi County Middle School, and Dingri County Middle School held the " high school entrance examination reform and "Coping Strategies" pre-exam counseling activities, in which I was responsible for implementing the stress-reducing psychological counseling. The activity effectively alleviated the psychological pressure of junior high school students before the exam, helped students adjust their status, and played a positive role in achieving excellent results in the high school entrance examination.
Focus on informatization construction and improve teaching quality
Based on the information management experience in Shanghai, I adopted a construction policy of focusing on both hardware and software to comprehensively improve the informatization level of Shanghai Experimental School in Shigatse City. In terms of
hardware, I assisted the Shanghai Education Aid to Tibet Team to upgrade all the electronic whiteboards in the school's 48 teaching classes to 86-inch nano blackboards and supporting physical projection and audio equipment . In terms of software, in the process of promoting the school's information-based education, I introduced the academic affairs scheduling system, electronic marking, and student performance analysis systems. Through the project funds provided by the Shanghai Charity Foundation, I organized relevant teachers from the school's Academic Affairs Office to go to Shanghai for training and study. , allowing them to master the functions of the software and be able to operate it independently, improving the school's education informatization level. Through the work team, I purchased two major resource libraries, 21 Century Education Network resources and correct cloud resources, for the school's third semester, so that all teachers in the school can prepare lessons, produce electronic courseware, compile targeted exercises, and formulate stage test papers. Each teaching link is supported by information technology from the resource library, which not only improves teachers' work efficiency, but also promotes teachers' professional development. At the same time, information technology training for teachers should be strengthened. In addition to all-staff training in the school, I also organized teachers from Shangshi to study at the Shanghai Teacher Training Center, and made information courses a required course, so that the Tibetan teachers in the school could master effective information-based teaching methods and improve their teaching skills. The level of teachers in the school. The school information construction work has improved teachers' information teaching literacy and improved the school's multimedia teaching conditions.
In terms of organizing the Shanghai-Everest Education Quality Alliance, I carried out seminar activities, pre-examination tutoring, online cloud teaching and research and other activities, and conducted joint examinations on the teaching of middle schools in Shanghai Experimental School, Yadong , Gyantse and other five counties. According to the analysis, the exchanges between the six schools have been improved and the teaching quality of the schools in the five counties has been effectively improved. The high school entrance examination scores of the middle schools in the five counties have improved to varying degrees. The theme of the online cloud teaching and research activities is a discussion on effective homework in the context of double reduction. All are hosted by Shanghai education experts and have been recognized by local teachers.
Aiding Tibet is a kind of dedication and a recognition of realizing the value of one's life. I use my experience in education and teaching to help Shigatse Shanghai Experimental School achieve the goals of modernizing teaching management, informatizing educational development, improving professional development of teachers, and promoting the healthy physical and mental growth of students.
