At the invitation of China Central Television, the teachers and students of the Chorus of Northwest University for Nationalities participated in the recording of "Salute to the Classics-"Yellow River Cantata"". After a hit on CCTV at 17:30 on October 1, it caused a strong response. At 18:00 on October 2, the program was broadcast on CCTV's four Chinese international channels again.
It is understood that in mid-July this year, the 60-member choir (24 teachers and 36 students) composed of teachers and students of the School of Music of Northwest University for Nationalities participated in the CCTV at the invitation of China Central Radio and Television. The recording of the special program "Salute to the Classics-"Yellow River Cantata"" of the " Chinese Literature and Art" column of the Music and Literature Department of the Chinese Universal Program Center of the Central Station, the performance was conducted by the famous conductor Cao Ding.
After the premiere of "The Yellow River Cantata" in April 1939, this work was sung continuously in Yan'an. In February 1940, Xian Xinghai conducted the largest 500-person "Yellow River Cantata" performance in Yan'an. In this performance, the program group "Chinese Literature: Salute to the Classics" invited the singer and centenarian Meng Yu who participated in the performance at the time to tell the story of her personal experience.
The Northwest University for Nationalities Chorus was established in 2007, at the end of December 2018 at the Northwest University for Nationalities New Year's Concert, and the Northwest University for Nationalities Symphony Orchestra performed two full-length "Yellow River Cantata" (by famous conductor Home Zhang Guoyong conductor); performed five full-length "Yellow River Cantata" in 2019, including the 80th anniversary of the premiere of "Yellow River Cantata" on April 13, 2019. At the invitation of the Yan'an Lu Arts Management Committee, Yan’an Grand Theater and 鲁艺 performed two full-length "Yellow River Cantata"; on July 1st, the Northwest University for Nationalities Chorus was invited by the Guiyang Symphony Orchestra on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the party this year.Cooperated with the Guiyang Symphony Orchestra to perform the entire "Yellow River Cantata" at the Guiyang Grand Theater, which was widely praised by all walks of life.
