September 11-12, South China Normal University Shanwei Campus ushered in the first freshmen registration. It is understood that all freshmen enrolled in Shanwei campus this year are from Guangdong, a total of 627 people. At the welcome scene, some teachers even turned into battery car drivers and “luggage porters”.
As the youngest campus of South China Normal University , Shanwei campus is the first undergraduate university in Shanwei City, and the final work to achieve full coverage of undergraduate universities in 21 cities in Guangdong Province. The first freshmen of Shanwei campus this year are from network engineering (professional teachers), e-commerce (professional teachers), elementary education (teacher), preschool education (teacher), data science and big data technology, Internet of Things project and 7 full-time undergraduate majors including materials physics.

On September 11, dozens of freshmen from Shanwei and surrounding areas reported in advance. In the morning, three freshmen from Shanwei campus and their parents first came to the south gate to report. Liu Jianwen, member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese Normal University Party Committee and Vice President, greeted them at the school gate, had a cordial conversation with parents and students, and encouraged the freshmen to study hard at the Shanwei campus, adapt to Shanwei, know Shanwei, love Shanwei, integrate into Shanwei, and contribute to Shanwei. Liu Jianwen also gave the new students a start-of-school package and took a group photo.
On September 12, the Shanwei campus welcomes new students in an orderly manner. Near the welcome check-in point, the school has set up a large pergola for students to load and unload luggage and take a short break. The Shanwei campus also specially prepared customized first-time freshmen's exclusive souvenirs and cultural shirts and other exclusive gifts for the freshmen.
During the special period of epidemic prevention and control, parents expressed their understanding and support for not being able to enter the campus. They took photos with the children at the gate of the south school, the famous stone of the school, and the photo wall, and said goodbye.
In order to do a good job of welcoming new students, the Shanwei campus of Huashi also recruited volunteers through the coordination of the Shanwei Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Shanwei Youth Volunteers Association. Volunteers include full-time teachers, administrative assistants, students, and local people in Shanwei. Volunteers' services cover the entire process of freshmen from the transportation hub to the campus check-in. Many professors and young teachers also gave up weekend breaks and offered to take the initiative to act as battery car drivers under the scorching sun.Help freshmen to carry and unload luggage.
