The 2023 Shakedown is a limited edition Challenger and the first in a series of seven “Last Call” special editions to be released in the coming weeks. The ultimate Dodge V8-powered Challenger, it will bring Dodge's combustion-powered muscle car into history. Inspired by a concept from the 2016 SEMA Show, Shakedown is available in two colors and the Dodge special edition will be limited to just 1,000 of the 392-engined muscle car. 500 of the Challenger Shakedown R/T Scat Pack will be finished in Destroyer Gray, while the other 500 Challenger Shakedown R/T Scat Pack Widebody will be finished in Pitch Black.
What makes the Challenger Shakedown Special Edition different from other 2023 Challengers? The differences are purely aesthetic upgrades, but die-hard Dodge fans may recognize this Challenger 's name and appearance. It's a nod to the 1971 Shakedown Challenger concept car that was unveiled at the 2016 SEMA show, with an offset black and red stripe across the top of the car that stretches from the hood to the trunk.
The only interior image provided by Dodge shows the eight-speed automatic transmission, which costs $1595 more than the six-speed manual. Both the R/T Scat Pack standard and widebody come standard with a manual transmission from Tremec, as well as lots of red interior trim.
The 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee Special Edition, the second in a series of seven “Last Call” limited editions to be launched in the coming weeks, will also be available in two colors. Production is still limited to 1,000 units, 500 of which will be based on the Scat Pack Widebody spec in Plum Crazy (purple and white), and the other 500 will be based on the Scat Pack with B5 Blue spec.
The new Charger delivers the highest level of performance ever in a Super Bee, packing the V8 engine in the Charger Scat Pack with standard street-legal drag tires for you to have fun on the track. Scat Pack models come with a naturally aspirated 6.4-liter V8 that produces 485 horsepower, sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee is easily identifiable by the badge on the grille and bee badges on the front fenders (pictured below). Super Bee is only available on the 2023 Charger Scat Pack trim.
