Mango Travel Diary: How much does it cost to drive in Tibet? Some people say tens of thousands, and some people say thousands. In fact, they are both correct, because prosperity and frugality depend on people. How much does it cost to drive in Tibet for a month? I calculated that we two girls spent a total of 7,470 yuan, including 4,015 yuan for accommodation, 1,778 yuan for meals, and 1,417 yuan for gas. The rest is other expenses, such as fruit snacks, parking fees, etc. (our personal expenses are not included, which will be discussed later. A detailed form will be attached).

1. Route
I departed from Guangzhou on July 8th and flew to Si Go to Ganzi Gesar Airport in Sichuan, then take the airport bus to Ganzi County to meet up with my friend Miaomiao, and then drive on the 317 National Highway (the car is hers, she started from Mianyang first, I was delayed a few times because I participated in an event in Hangzhou, Zhejiang) day, so we fly to Ganzi and meet up). The fees mentioned here are calculated from the time we meet up.

Our route is: Ganzi - Baiyu - Dege - Jiangda - Qamdo - Ding Qing - Suo County - for example - Lhasa - Shannan (we are still in Tibet and have not returned), it is exactly one month from July 8th to August 8th (including my personal air ticket from Guangzhou to Ganzi, Sichuan, which cost 1,500 yuan and I bought some supplies before departure. If I calculate my personal expenses, it will be about 6,000 yuan).

2. Meal and Accommodation
Our total accommodation cost is 4015 yuan, and the total meal cost is 1778 yuan.
Accommodation is our biggest expense on the road. Generally speaking, accommodation in Tibet is more expensive than Sichuan, and it gets more expensive the further we go to Lhasa. July and August are also the peak summer season, and the accommodation price is several times more expensive than usual. Standard rooms are basically It was more than 180 yuan, but we stayed in Gada Village in Naqusuo County for 8 days without any food and accommodation expenses (Miaomiao's friends were stationed in the village there, so we stayed with them for food and accommodation).

Eating is the second largest expense, but our meal expenses are relatively small because we often only eat two meals or even three meals a day. I only eat one meal, often making cereal for breakfast, often eating dry food snacks on the road for lunch, and dinner will be relatively rich, mostly Sichuan cuisine (there are Sichuan restaurants in every town on the Sichuan-Tibet line ), and I usually order one. Both meat and vegetables are twice or even twice as expensive as in the mainland, with a meal basically costing between 60 and 120.

3. Refueling
Our total cost of refueling was 1,417 yuan, of which Miaomiao filled up the tank before we met and was not included in the cost, because she said she could just fill it up when leaving. Gas prices are much more expensive this year. The price of gas along the 317 National Highway 92 is between 9.4 yuan and 9.7 yuan.
Many people have questioned our fuel costs. Here is an explanation:
1. We are not on the road like most tourists, but stop and go. We will stay in places we like for a few more days. Compared with Nagqu I stayed in Gada Village for 8 days, Lhasa for 7 days, for example, 3 days in the county, 2 days in Qamdo and Shannan, etc. The middle time was not very useful. The car requires less fuel, and we have no return trip to Tibet. The total kilometers are about 2,000 kilometers;

2. Our car is F Tian Zxuan, which is very fuel-efficient. , the average fuel consumption should be about 5 fuel, or even less. Many people think that the plateau consumes more fuel, but this is not true. Practice has proved that taking National Highway 317 saves more fuel than traveling in inland cities. First, because the road conditions are very good, almost all are paved roads, and second, there are no traffic jams and there are speed limits, so we almost always drive at a constant speed, and the average speed should be about 80 kilometers.

4. Tolls and Tickets
Many people ask us, don’t we have tolls? No ticket fee?
1. Because we took National Highway 317, there were no tolls. Although the trip from Nagqu to Lhasa was a highway, it was free (highways in Tibet are free).
2． Except for Dege Sutra Printing House , Sapu Sacred Mountain, Yongbulakang , we did not go to other paid attractions (it was not the first time for us to enter Tibet, so we did not go to the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple this time. places), the total admission fee for these three attractions is about 200 yuan. In fact, most of the scenery is on the road.

4. Explanation
Many people say that they entered Tibet The oil cost alone is increased by tens of thousands or even tens of thousands of yuan. That is because their cars consume a lot of fuel, which may be several times that of our cars. Many people think that you must drive an off-road vehicle when entering Tibet. In fact, no matter whether it is a 317 Sichuan-Tibet Line or 318 Sichuan-Tibet Line , the road conditions are very good and ordinary cars can travel on them.
Our F Tian Zxuan had no problem at all when climbing over the 5,300-meter Kangqingla Pass and taking the winding gravel road to the 4,800-meter Zizhu Temple. We walked the entire 317 route without going to Sapu Mountain, and there were no problems at all other places. Because our car has a small displacement (1.5 displacement), it consumes less fuel and is very fuel-efficient.
