Jamoyang Tubutan (1925 -2022) is a highly respected and senior lama who was the abbot of the Lama Temple in Beijing. 7html When he was 1 year old, he became a monk at the local Bodhijidu Temple and became a disciple of Luosang Penjie. 1942 year 17html When he was 1 year old, he went to the Kumbum Monastery in Qinghai and began his life of asceticism, studying scriptures and practicing rules. This lasted for 27 year. He studied hard and deeply, and became proficient in Tibetan and Sanskrit. At the same time, he studied debate on sutras, obtained the " Geshe " ( doctor ) degree, and became a scholar-type monk widely praised by people in the Buddhist community. 1981html In 1981, Tubutan was invited to the Lama Temple to serve as a sutra teacher. Over the past few years, he translated and published "The Source of Wisdom" and co-edited the Tibetan " Four Medical Classics". Under the guidance of Khenpo Tubutan, Yonghe Temple has resumed major Dharma activities in the temple in accordance with religious rituals.
