Xuanren Village is located about 7.5 kilometers southeast of Dai County. It was the thirty-nine forts in ancient prefectures and the six southeastern forts in the twelve consecutive cities in the important military defense system of the border during the Tang and Song Dynasties. It was the "capital of Renxiang among the thirty-five capitals of the Five Townships in the Ming Dynasty" in the Ming Dynasty. It is also one of the ancient villages with Neolithic sites in Dai County. According to legend, Ren'an Temple, which has a history of more than 1,600 years, is like a Buddhist pearl inlaid on the West Street of Xuanren Village in Dai County, a famous historical and cultural city. People are accustomed to calling Ren'an Temple the West Temple. In ancient times, this temple had two entrances. The temple gate was in the southwest corner of the front yard, facing the north and facing the south. There was a "big cowhide drum with a diameter of 1 meter" on the door. Whenever night fell, the monks would beat the drum, bells in the morning and drums in the evening, green lanterns and yellow scrolls, and the sound of Amitabha, sighing the joys and sorrows of the world.

After entering the temple gate, there is a big locust tree against the west wall. The main hall of the south courtyard is the Manjusri Bodhisattva main hall; the east is the Grandma Hall, in which Grandma Yunxiao is enshrined in the middle, Grandma Bixiao is enshrined on the left side, and Grandma Qiongxiao is enshrined on the west side. They are collectively known as Grandma Sanxiao, and are commonly known as Grandma Songzi. People say that they are very efficacious, so they have always been worshiped by many good men and women in nearby villages. To the west is the Hall of the King of Hell, which is very strict and timid people generally dare not enter. In the middle of the main hall in the backyard is Yeguang Ye Hall, in the east is Laoye Hall, and in the west is the Zen room where the monk master rests and lives.

At that time, Ren'an Temple was a relatively large temple located in all directions around Xuanren Village. There were many legends and stories here, and the incense was also very popular. There lived a master monk named Wuyun in the temple. He often cast fortunes and draw lots in the Laoye Hall for people seeking good fortune, and chanted sutras and prayed for those seeking heirs. People said it was efficacious, so the Laoye Hall and Nai Nai Hall of Ren'an Temple were favored by good men and women from all over the world. Speaking of Master Wuyun of Ren'an Temple, people over 60 years old in the village probably have a deep impression on him. He is from Xuanren Village, his real name is Xue Zhongying, his son is Xue Shouxiao, and he has three grandsons, the eldest grandson is Xue Cangcang.
It is said that Master Wuyun served as a soldier when he was young. Before joining the army, he was married and had children. After joining the army, he served in a reconnaissance company and received professional martial arts training. He has extraordinary skills and high martial arts skills. Later, because he was homesick for his family, he applied to return home. When his immediate superior approved his return, it was said that in order to keep it secret, he made a three-part agreement with him. One of them was that he must become a monk before returning home, otherwise he would not be allowed to return. Therefore, after Xue Zhongying returned to his hometown to choose Rencun, he kept his promise and went to the Western Temple (ie Ren'an Temple) to shave his head and become a monk. This person has a kind face, a tall body, is proficient in chess, and moves as fast as flying. Even ordinary people can't keep up with him. He has the boldness of a martial artist and the elegance of a chess master. He truly lives up to the saying "Martial arts is extremely elegant."

Pious Evening Class
Since Master Wuyun had converted to Buddhism, he abided by his promise, devoted himself to Buddhism, and saw through the red flags of the world. Chen, although he has a wife and children at home, he is devout in Buddhism and devotes himself to practice. He has no involvement in family affairs and has been practicing Zen in Ren'an Temple. Especially the evening lessons when the sun went down, my father still remembers them fresh.
Every time when the sun sets, he first recites the "Buddha Speaks of Amitabha Sutra" amidst the sound of evening drums. After reciting, he devoutly recites the dedication verse 1:
I hope that with this merit, I will adorn the Buddha's Pure Land.
Report the fourfold kindness and relieve the hardships on the three journeys.
Anyone who has seen and heard this should arouse bodhicitta.
After completing this Sambhogakaya, we will be reborn in the Land of Ultimate Bliss.
Dedication Verse 2:
I wish to be born in the pure land of the West, with the nine-grade lotus as my parents.
When the flowers bloom, I see the Buddha and realize the existence of no life, and the Bodhisattva of Inexhaustibility is my companion.
is followed by reciting the Dharani "Uprooting All Karmic Obstacles and Reborn in the Pure Land" (i.e., the "Pure Land Mantra") three times, and dedicates the verse: May all merits be dedicated to the whole village and the people in neighboring villages, and to all the grievances and creditors. I hope they live and work in peace and contentment, and all their businesses prosper.
After reciting the "Great Confession to the Buddha", he said:
I hope that I will dedicate this merit to the supreme true Dharma realm.
The nature of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, the two truths are integrated with Samadhi seal.
Such a sea of immeasurable merit, I will dedicate all of it now.
All sentient beings, with body, speech and mind, are deceived and slander my Dharma.
In this way, all karma and obstacles will be eliminated without leaving any trace.
Thoughts and wisdom circulate in the Dharma Realm, and all sentient beings will not retreat.
Even the world of emptiness is gone, and all sentient beings and their karma and troubles are gone.
The Four Dharmas are so vast and boundless, and I hope this will be the same for me now. (One worship)
Namo Daxing Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. (Stand up after completing the three calls)
and then recite "Mengshan Giving Food". After the evening class, they also used the chime and knelt down to worship "Buddhas of the Ten Directions and Three Worlds" and other verses of the Great Compassionate Bodhisattva's Vows. This was followed by "Poetry to Encourage the Public" and "Samantabhadra Police Called "Namo Jialan Saint Bodhisattva", followed by the Great Compassion Mantra. Finally, it ends with blessing Jialan , bowing to the Buddha three times before retreating, and returning to the Zen room to rest. Day after day, Master Wu Yun's evening classes were conducted like this. At the end, he recited in his heart, "I hope this merit will spread to all people in the world, bless the whole village and all directions with good weather, and bless all living beings in health, and all will achieve good results."

Master Wuyun entrusted him with a dream
Master Wuyun was devoted to kindness and practiced Buddhism. One day, in the early hours of the morning, while he was sleeping soundly, he dreamed that his temple was filled with layers of Buddha statues, and bundles of cash were placed under the statues, almost surrounding the statues. A Buddha told him: These money were sent by people who fulfilled their vows. The reason why the Buddha statue in Ren'an Temple is efficacious is because the Buddha is a real Buddha. He also said that every master who has achieved enlightenment will become a Buddha after death, and the master's body is placed in this Buddha statue. While talking, Master Wuyun saw many monks opening the Buddha's body, and then he saw the white bones. He was praying when suddenly it seemed like three people sneaked over the wall and entered the temple. I saw these three people sneaking towards the Mahavira Hall of Manjushri Bodhisattva... At this time, Master Wuyun seemed to be pushed on the shoulder and suddenly woke up. He was suddenly startled and suddenly felt that his dream was very strange. So, Master Wuyun turned over and put on his clothes and went out to check what was going on in the temple. He saw that the temple was quiet in front and back, and nothing happened. He suddenly realized that it was the master who had dreamed of him. From then on, he became more pious in his practice. Exactly:
html In the misty moonlit night of March, a thief entered the Buddhist door in my dream.
The master’s dream is really magical, and the weather will be smooth and the people will be safe.

Master Wuyun does not believe in hexagrams
Master Wuyun often gives people divination, and it is often fulfilled. Therefore, it is said that the Laoye hexagram from Ren'an Temple in Rencun is very effective. Master Wuyun is also highly praised by the famous people in the surrounding villages. When people have something to do, they will come to the temple to ask Master Wuyun for a hexagram. Despite this, Master Wuyun himself does not believe in hexagrams. Speaking of this, Master Wuyun’s eldest grandson Xue Cangcang (83 years old this year) has deep memories:
In 1959, Xue Cangcang was studying at Nieying Middle School in Dai County. When he learned about the county’s military recruitment, he volunteered to sign up and gloriously joined the People’s Liberation Army. The participating troops are the 4691 Engineering Corps of Henan Province. Because when he was a child, he often went to Ren'an Temple to visit his grandfather, Master Wuyun. Grandpa became a monk and was very philanthropic. The two of them got along very well. He often slept in the same bed as Grandpa at Ren'an Temple. Since he joined the army from Nie Zhong, Master Wuyun has often kept talking about his grandson's name. Sometimes when playing chess, he would suddenly talk to his chess friends about missing his grandson.One day after he had been in the army for three years, Master Wuyun decided to go to the army to see his grandson. The kind-hearted villager dissuaded him, but Master Wuyun refused to give up the idea. Finally, someone said: "Master Wuyun, you often tell people's fortunes. Why don't you tell fortunes and fortunes yourself?" Under the persuasion of the kind-hearted villagers, Master Wuyun made three predictions in front of the statue of Master Guan. The first two hexagrams are "not suitable to go out", that is: the poem of the first hexagram is:
A bird loses its plane and falls into a cage, even if it can fly it cannot fly;
At present, it is only advisable to keep one's job, and you can't soar if you want to.
It is difficult for a bird to stand out in a cage, and the possessor cannot be free when encountering it;
It is difficult to be sure when seeking wealth, and diseases and tongues cause sorrow.
(Hexagram: Heavenly Thunder is Wuwu, Bird is Caged, Lower Sign) It is not suitable to go out, partnership will be unprofitable, marriage will be lost, and the disease will not be cured. Explanation: The family is separated, which brings good luck and bad luck.
The poem of the second hexagram is:
A flower blooms in the mirror, but it looks good but cannot be taken;
I advise you not to fall in love with the flower in the mirror, for if you encounter it, it will be unfavorable.
Looking at the flowers in the mirror is not serious, and the pursuit of wealth is not fulfilled;
The transaction fails, the marriage is broken up, and there is no news about the missing person.
(Gua genus: Fenghuo family, looking at flowers in the mirror, under the sign) It is not suitable to travel, the disease has not been cured, it is not accurate to ask for a name, and it is not suitable to make plans.
accounted for these two hexagrams, and the hexagram predicted "it is not suitable to travel", but Master Wuyun really didn't believe this. But the enthusiastic villagers persuaded him to draw another hexagram, so he arranged the hexagrams again, put three sticks of incense again, and drew the hexagrams again with great respect. When he saw the hexagrams, he said, "Dense clouds block the sun, so I advise you not to travel far." This is even more disappointing. It turns out that the third hexagram is the next sign, and the hexagram says:
Thick clouds block the sun, so I advise you not to travel far;
It is not good for marriage and wealth, so be careful of words in the door.
After reading the third hexagram, the villagers said, don’t go out. They would rather believe in the hexagram than take risks. But Master Wuyun insisted on looking for his grandson, and he immediately chanted loudly, "If you want to know the cause of the past life, who is the recipient of this life; if you want to know the result of the future life, who is the author of this life." He said: "No matter whether our situation today is good or bad, everything comes from the causes and conditions of the past life. What kind of causes we created in the previous life will be what kind of consequences we will receive in this life, including many successful and unsatisfactory things we have today. Everything comes from the causes and conditions of the past life. Folks, I understand your mood. I usually I am determined to do good, practice hard, and let everything go. I have made up my mind, and there is no need to persuade me, so let’s do it. If we are destined, I believe we will meet again in the future. Please take care of the temple affairs, and I will come back.” After that, he clasped his hands and said "Amitabha" and walked along the road to Henan Province.
The transportation was not as convenient as it is now. I don’t know how many difficulties Master Wuyun overcame and how many wrongful paths he walked before finally finding Sun Tzu’s army. However, due to military construction, his grandson Xue Cangcang was transferred to Shijiazhuang for construction. After he inquired about the whereabouts of the troops, he came to the construction site of the troops in Shijiazhuang. Xue Cangcang said: "My grandpa was so happy to see me at that time. He stayed with me for ten days and then said he wanted to go home. Because we were under intense construction and I didn't have time to spend more time with my grandpa, so I couldn't persuade him to stay. I asked my grandpa to send me a letter when I got home. Grandpa agreed, so he picked up his bags and started on the way home. However, this farewell became an eternal farewell. Until now, I am 83 years old, and I have never seen him again. There is no trace of grandpa, but I often dream that he is playing chess with Master Guan, but I have never seen his face, and I have never heard grandpa’s loud voice calling me. "
Master Wuyun went out to find his grandson but did not return. Some people said that he was killed by a gangster on the way, some said that he got lost, and some said that he answered the prophecy of the fortune teller.In short, the story of Master Wuyun has always been legendary among the people of Xuanren Village, especially the Laoye Gua of Ren'an Temple, which became even more magical. However, since Master Wuyun was no longer found, Master Wuyun's hexagrams and poems were missing. It’s true:
Master Wuyun entered Buddhism and devoted himself to good deeds and practiced hard;
The bells and drums in the morning and evening did not stop, and he recited sutras to repay sentient beings.
My body is in the void like a passer-by, my mind views life and death like floating clouds;
I firmly believe in cause and effect, and my desolate remains are nowhere to be found.
There is a locust tree in Ren'an Temple, but there is no trace of the Zen Master;
I am lonely and gainless now, and I can only find it in the dreams of future generations.

Conclusion
For ancient people, divination can solve problems that cannot be solved by normal human judgment, so it is of great significance. Whether it is a major event in the court, the expedition of the army, or the people's sacrifices , weddings and funerals, etc., divination must be performed in advance. Master Wuyun told others to draw lots, but he didn't believe in the divination, and people today will even less believe in it.
Because we have now entered the 21st century, science and technology are changing with each passing day, and many ancient myths and stories have become reality. For example, the " clairvoyance " and " shunfeng ear " mentioned by the ancients have been replaced by the "video and audio" of mobile phones. Not only that, the man-made satellite has long been in the sky; the lunar exploration project "Chang'e 4" successfully landed on the back of the moon and the manned Shenzhou spacecraft has completed many missions in space and returned to the ground to realize the myth of "Chang'e flying to the moon"; the radio telescope was successfully built; the Jiaolong manned submersible reached a maximum diving depth of 7020 meters The "Dragon Palace Treasure Hunt" in "Journey to the West" was realized; the South China Sea reclamation artifact "blowing" 3,000 square kilometers of land, making the myth of " Jingwei Reclamation " a reality today... The mythical stories of the ancients have become a reality, making ancient legends truly become modern national treasures, making the Chinese people feel proud and proud.
In summary, there is no need for us to rush to deny Master Wuyun’s divination behavior. After all, fortune tellers can get some spiritual comfort from Master Wuyun’s well-intentioned interpretation of the divination. Today we admire science because science is rigorous and logical. Therefore, today we should carry forward Master Wuyun's spirit of "practice diligently and achieve great results", believe in science, advocate science, and encourage people to use their wisdom and wisdom to create a better future with hard-working hands.
