It is just that the weight and attention expressed in different periods are different. The well-educated scholars in the past became famous only after they had many achievements in the learning of the three schools.

In fact, the three companies were originally one. All are summary of the understanding of worldly life. It’s just that the angle and depth of intake are different. The understanding of some facts is often constantly sublimating from sensibility to rationality. Therefore, there are many amazing talents in China, and we even call them sages.

Let me talk about Buddhism today. In Buddhism, the standards of sages are very high. Only when they are different from ordinary people and are higher than ordinary people can they be called saints, so-called transcendence and becoming saints. Do you feel confused? People without the foundation of Buddhism are a little difficult to understand. How can Buddhism produce sages? To be right, Buddhism is actually the saying of sages, which means to transform ordinary people into saints. This is the purpose of Buddhism, called Buddhism.

Many people only regard Buddhism as doing good deeds and accumulating virtues. As the saying goes, do good things and don’t ask about the future, they think it is the whole of Buddhism; some even equate Buddhism with superstition, thinking that those strange behaviors that pretend to be gods and ghosts are Buddhism; some even regard Buddhism as a spiritual placebo, believing that only those who are stimulated will learn Buddhism. In fact, these are prejudice.

Don’t blame anyone who doesn’t know it. How could people who lived at the bottom of the ancients find it difficult to get to know Buddhism and need to pass the exam before they can learn it. Therefore, it is probably because people at the bottom have not truly understood Buddhism and have some strange and unwise behaviors, which have led to some wrong understandings for everyone. There are also some pseudo-Buddhism and even cults that sell dog meat under the guise of sheep, distorting the Dharma, causing deep misunderstandings among people who do not understand or have not been exposed to the Dharma. This is a very unfortunate and sad thing. Now we must gradually correct people’s misunderstandings about Chinese traditional culture, inherit the cultural essence left by our ancestors, and correct our attitude. Only then can you become an extraordinary person and become a saint.
