Nian'an Pine is located on the hillside to the right of Biluo Peak in Gaotai Temple. There are three ancient pines that are lush and full of vitality. Their branches are green, vigorous and tall. Standing majestically on the rock, fighting against the frost and proud of the snow. According to records in "Nanyue Zhi": these five ancient pines were planted by Luo Hongxian, the number one scholar in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, and Chu Shi, the abbot of Gaotai Temple.

At that time, monk Chu Shi was meditating in the Yuanming Cave of Nanyue. Luo Hongxian happened to be sightseeing in Nanyue and came to the Yuanming Cave where monk Chu Shi was practicing to talk about the philosophy of life. Both of them were great Confucians. , spoke eloquently, and it was a shame that we met so late. Luo Hongxian returned to Jiangxi after visiting Nanyue. Monk Chu Shi continued to stay for meditation and began to restore the ancient Gaotai Temple above Yuanming Cave. Winter and summer came and went, and one spring, Monk Chu Shi finally restored the ancient temple. Monk Chu Shi looked at the green and vibrant scene all over the mountains and fields, so he invited Luo Hong to visit Nanyue first.
Luo Hongxian was very happy. Before leaving, he carefully selected six Huangshan pine young pines on Lushan Mountain and presented them to Monk Chu Shi as gifts. Luo Hong first met Monk Chu Shi and saw the majestic ancient Gaotai Temple. He admired, "The Chu Shi on the Gaotai is protected by pine trees." When Monk Chu Shi saw the three-cylinder green pine sapling coming from afar, he clasped his hands together and said in thanks, "The gate is Nanhai, just like seeing Putuo." So the two people discussed where to plant the three pine trees. They went out of the temple gate and dug a hole on the hillside above the Guanyin Rock on the right side of the temple gate. Luo Hongxian and Chu Shier Together, people placed Huangshan pine saplings in tree holes, cultivated the soil, and irrigated them with mountain springs. As time flies by, these three pine trees took root in Nanyue and traveled through a history of more than 1,000 years. They are still vigorous and tall in front of the world today.
Monk Chu Shi has a deep understanding of Buddhism, and his favorite is the Diamond Sutra. Normally, people would seek help from Monk Chu Shi. Regardless of whether they were dignitaries or villagers, Monk Chu Shi would sincerely advise them to recite the Diamond Sutra. Monk Chu Shi did not die until he was 171 years old. His contemporaries include Monk Bai Teng and Monk Wuji. Monk Bai Teng lived 130 years old and Monk Wuji lived 124 years old. All live long lives. What the three of them have in common is that they insist on reciting the Diamond Sutra, just like the Huangshan pine on the Nanyue Mountains, standing proudly in the long river of time.
