Wuye Temple, also known as Wanfo Pavilion, is located in Taihuai Town. It was originally built in the 44th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty. There are no archways, mountain gates and other buildings. The entire courtyard consists of Manjusri Hall, Wuye Hall, stage and monk's residence.

Wenshu Hall is the oldest building in the Wuye Temple. The architectural technique is three eaves and four verandas, forming a top of the mountain. The temple is small in size and houses 10,000 Buddha statues, so it is called the Pavilion of Ten Thousand Buddhas.

Shuxiang Temple is one of the most popular temples in Mount Wutai, second only to Wuye Temple in terms of incense.

Shuxiang Temple was first built in the early years of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. It was rebuilt in the Tang and Yuan dynasties, but was later destroyed by fire. It was rebuilt in the ninth year of Hongzhi's reign (1496) in the Ming Dynasty, and again in the Wanli period (1573-1620). There are inscriptions on the rebuilt monument in the temple. It is named Shuxiang Temple because Manjushri Bodhisattva is enshrined in the temple. Shuxiang Temple is a typical Han-style temple. The mountain gate faces south, with a single eaves resting on the top of the mountain. There are a pair of stone lions on the left and right in front of the mountain gate, and waist gates on both sides.

The most famous building in the temple, the Great Manjusri Hall, is the main hall of Shuxiang Temple. It is five rooms wide and three rooms deep, with double eaves and nine ridges on the top of the mountain. The existing palace was built in the second year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty (1489) and is the largest palace in the central area of ​​Taihuai, Mount Wutai. The statue of Manjusri riding a lion enshrined on the Buddhist altar in the middle of the hall is 9.87 meters high. It is the tallest Manjusri statue among the temples in Mount Wutai. In the twenty-eighth year of Kangxi's reign (1689), the Holy Ancestor of the Qing Dynasty inscribed a plaque on the statue of Manjusri riding a Suan Ni in Shuxiang Temple: "The auspicious appearance is natural." The Bodhisattva here is very efficacious, and many believers gathered in front of the Great Manjusri Hall to burn incense.
