8月24日19時15分，酒泉衛星發射中心，長征二號丙遙五十一運載火箭搭檔遠征一號S遙二上面級，以「一箭三星」方式，成功發射三顆通信技術試融合試驗衛星
僅僅4個半小時後，8月24日23時41分，西昌衛星發射中心，長征三號乙遙七十八運載火箭又成功發射了通信技術試驗衛星七號。
