this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the chinese people's war of resistance against japanese aggression and the world anti-fascist war. on august 15th, 1945, 80 years ago, japan announced its unconditional surrender.
on august 14th, 2025, the guangdong provincial archives held an event to showcase historical materials related to the war of resistance against japanese aggression, presenting a batch of evidence documenting japan's war crimes during its invasion of south china.
among the archives donated by japanese scholar seiya matsuno are photo collections of war crimes committed by the japanese army's 18th division during its invasion of guangdong in 1938, as well as photo collections documenting the division's crimes in southern china from 1939 to 1942. these historical photo collections vividly display scenes of japanese military operations, the occupation of towns, and serve as direct visual evidence of japan's aggressive actions.
some of the photos show various resistance slogans written on ruined walls, such as "japanese aggressors, return our land." these images reflect the determined resistance of the people of south china under the brutal oppression of japanese fascism.
in addition, a batch of japanese-language documents and telegrams, revealing the counterfeit currency operations carried out by japanese invaders in hong kong in 1942, has also been unveiled. the collection includes five telegrams, which record in detail the planned quantity, locations, processes, and distribution of counterfeit currency, providing further evidence of japan's "counterfeit currency" crimes.
廣東公布一批日軍入侵華南罪證
今年是中國人民抗日戰爭暨世界反法西斯戰爭勝利80周年，80年前的8月15日，日軍宣布無條件投降。
8月14日，廣東省檔案館舉行館藏抗戰檔案史料推介活動，現場展示一批日軍入侵華南罪證史料。
在日本學者松野誠也近期向廣東省檔案館捐贈的檔案中，包括侵華日軍第18師團1938年入侵廣東的侵略罪行照片集，以及1939年至1942年第18師團在華南地區侵略罪行照片集。這些歷史照片集清晰展現了日軍進攻作戰、佔領城鎮等場景，是日軍侵略暴行的直接影像證據。
照片中赫然出現了寫在殘垣斷壁上的多種抗戰標語，例如，「倭寇還我河山！」等，生動反映出在日本法西斯鐵蹄下，華南人民奮起反抗的偉大精神。
一批侵華日軍在香港侵佔和偽造中國法幣有關日文文件電報檔案也被全文公布。這批日文檔案揭示了侵華日軍佔領香港後，在1942年侵佔並偽造中國法幣的史實。該組日文電報檔案共有5份，其中詳細記錄了計劃實施偽造法幣的數量、地點、過程、分贓流向、使用規定等信息，自證了日軍「偽鈔戰」罪行。
