The ten ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia) and 15 countries including China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, officially signed RCEP after 8 years of negotiation ! It marks the official conclusion of the world's largest private trade agreement!
It is reported that RCEP was originally initiated by the 10 ASEAN countries in 2012, inviting China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and India to participate, in order to reduce tariffs and non-tariff barriers and establish a free trade agreement for a unified market.
The agreement closely follows the development trend of global trade and incorporates many new forms of trade, e-commerce is one of them. In addition to e-commerce, the agreement also includes intellectual property rights, competition policy, government procurement, and small and medium-sized enterprises, which exceed the scope of WTO regulations.
At the same time, the signing of RCEP also has an impact on sellers; the level of openness in goods trade has reached 90% or more , and each country has opened at least 100 markets. Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar 30% of the goods enjoy zero tariff treatment, and other member states 65% of goods enjoy zero tariffs. China and Japan reached a bilateral tariff reduction arrangement for the first time, achieving a historic breakthrough! The signing of
RCEP also changes people's lives;
shopping is more favorable: more high-quality consumer products from other countries will enter the Chinese market with lower tariffs.
Traveling is more convenient: free movement of people makes traveling abroad more convenient and faster.
Enterprise is safer: to form a unified rule system in the region. Reduce operating costs and reduce operating uncertainty.
Investment is more efficient: Investors from outside the region enter a country, which means that the country enters the entire region, the market and space are greatly increased, which helps attract investment.
