Brand Finance (Brand Finance), a British brand evaluation agency, released the ranking of the “Top 500 Most Valuable U.S. Brands in 2020” (US 500 2020). Amazon continued to rank first, and Google surpassed Apple in second place. Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Wal-Mart, Verizon, AT&T, Disney and Home Depot also entered the top ten.
The total value of the top 500 U.S. brands in 2020 is 399.4 billion US dollars. Among them, 56 technology brands are on the list, valued at US$717.4 billion, accounting for 18.4%; 42 retail brands are on the list, valued at US$594.7 billion, accounting for 15.2%; 27 media brands are on the list, valued at US$364.5 billion, accounting for 9.3%; 31 banking brands are on the list, valued at US$278.8 billion, accounting for 7.1%; 29 business service brands are on the list, valued at US$207.1 billion, accounting for 5.3%; 9 telecom brands are on the list, valued at US$186.9 billion, Accounted for 4.8%.
Brand Finance uses the "royalty relief" to calculate brand value, that is, to measure the cost of licensing such a brand in the future.
