First of all, before pressing the shutter, we must first understand the camera tool. Once you understand those settings and features, you can take full advantage of your camera.

After getting the camera, read the manual three times, read the manual three times, read the manual three times! Knowing the equipment you have is paramount! If you are too lazy to read, just search for your camera model online and read the tutorials. Children who don’t study will not become great photographers!

About the choice of shooting mode:

(1) Aperture priority mode (A mode) is suitable for shooting most subjects. This mode is used by many professional photographers, but it is also suitable for beginners. Powerful, yet easy to use. In 99.9% of cases, I use this mode.

- In Av mode, the camera automatically sets the shutter speed. Normally I would set the iso to automatic. This way I only need to adjust the aperture to change the focus range and background blur. Adjust exposure compensation (EV) to change the brightness of the photo. Let the camera automatically set the rest, so you can focus more on the picture and composition.

- This mode is suitable for shooting landscapes, food, people and small objects. Basically everything.

(2) Full manual mode (M mode)

Novices have no feel and

need to manually adjust iso, shutter, and aperture to achieve a suitable exposure. You need to specifically understand the exposure triangle (iso, shutter and aperture). If you have good skills, this mode is suitable for shooting any kind of subject. Especially suitable for night scenes.

(3) Shutter priority mode

When the shutter is manually defined, the camera will automatically meter and set the aperture value. Suitable for shooting moving objects, such as sports photography.

(4) B door mode

In this mode, when the shutter is pressed, the camera starts to expose until the shutter is released. The length of the exposure depends on how long the shutter is pressed.

is suitable for shooting star trails, fireworks and the like.

(5) Fully automatic mode

Everyone knows that you leave all the settings to the camera and just press the shutter. But for those of you who have already bought a camera, please study carefully and do not use this mode! What a waste of a camera.
