It is recruited again.
After less than half a year, Xiaomi mobile phone has been replaced again.
Looking back a few months ago, the marriage between Xiaomi and Leica can be said to be a big news in the consumer electronics circle. What is even more gratifying is that in this cooperation, Xiaomi has achieved an ideal win-win situation, and both Xiaomi and Leica have achieved leaps at multiple levels.
So, we naturally want to see better on Xiaomi's new phone.
With such expectations, I started getting along with Xiaomi 13.
not only benchmark, but also wants to better
. The first thing that cannot be avoided is its appearance. Xiaomi’s official Weibo has been warming up these days. To be honest, its appearance is no longer suspense. Xiaomi itself has given three keywords for this design: lightness, ability and order. The three keywords
are summarized very well.
Xiaomi 13 The thickness of the whole machine is 7.98mm, and the weight is controlled within 200 grams. More specifically, it is 189 grams. Lightness is definitely done.
is secondly competent and order. These two points are placed on the same consideration level, and the two complement each other. So Xiaomi 13 abandoned all the complicated elements that would blur the design body, and the lines were simplified: straight border + straight screen is the best proof.
Of course, taking into account the feeling of holding, both sides of the front and back are arc-shaped, which solves the problem of straight board being stung.
aluminum middle frame, durable and durable.
body buttons are arranged on the right side. When holding, a single finger can control the volume increase and subtraction and lock screen, and the design and interaction are both capable.
This machine is a color scheme of Yuanshan blue, the back cover is made of technological nano leather, and a large black rear camera module has hidden three cameras, and even the LEICA logo looks low-key.
In addition, there is only a "XIAOMI" logo left on the back cover, continuing Xiaomi's usual simple style on the back.
The key lies in the back lines. The slight ups and downs form a natural and comfortable arc at the intersection of the back cover and the middle frame, reducing the feeling of hand stinging caused by the straight edge. With a moderate width of 71.5mm, even small hands users can find comfortable grip support, while retaining the possibility of one-hand operation.
Xiaomi also has its own tricks for what material to use on the back. Xiaomi even used this as a selling point, claiming that the back cover of Xiaomi 13 can be used as a sticky note. Users can paint with markers on the back, and wipe it with a wet tissue afterwards and it will be clean.
Although this promotional caliber is confusing as a selling point, it at least proves that Xiaomi 13-nanometer leather back cover is dirt-resistant and easy to clean, and its durability will be higher than the previous plain leather material. The use of leather materials in
makes the holding feel a step further, while also reducing the risk of hand slipping.
just talked about design, and it was difficult for us to ignore the elephant in the room. When my colleagues passed by my workstation, they would ask a similar question: "Is this iPhone?"
It is of course not an iPhone, but Xiaomi 13 has its own core purpose: comfortable feel. In order to achieve this goal, Xiaomi added the "curved back" processing based on the straight edge and middle frame. Although the changes to
are small, they are also of great use.
So even though it looks similar to an iPhone, it still retains its own soul. After asking "Is this an iPhone?", my colleagues usually follow another comment: "It feels good."
Because of this, I personally think the design of Xiaomi 13 is successful: light, capable and orderly. It did it all.
razor plan, cutting towards MIUI
In terms of appearance design, Xiaomi showed the minimalist design ability acquired, so they decided to use this skill to MIUI, and put forward the slogan of "ultra-pure system" on MIUI 14, and launched the "Razor Plan" to try to achieve a counterattack at the Xiaomi system level.
First of all, Xiaomi has cut off a large number of native applications, retaining only eight basic functions (phone, text messages, contacts, cameras, etc.). This is the first step to reduce the burden and create a refreshing feeling at the first glance.
If necessary, users can download these first-party applications from the application store by themselves, and the choice is left to the user.
However, for some people, this may weaken the convenience of Xiaomi mobile phones ready to use. I am referring to older parents who were originally able to use the apps that were originally available to be used on the computer, but now they have to enter the app store themselves to find it. This is like an additional threshold for use.
Xiaomi may wish to set up a native application area in the application store and provide one-click installation function to further reduce the threshold for novice users.
Speaking of which, I think most people prefer to see a refreshing system. This step taken by MIUI 14 still outweighs the benefits. The second step in the
Razor plan is to cut off unnecessary system firmware.
Xiaomi claims that the system firmware of MIUI 14 is 23% streamlined compared to the previous generation. This operation is the same as reducing the system's own memory occupancy, which further reduces the system's burden.
But such improvements are not easy to be perceived. People seem to care more about whether the new system has eye-catching designs or new features worth playing with. However, long-term use is a necessary condition for people to give positive reviews to a mobile phone. Under this contradiction, Xiaomi chose to focus on both sides, not only vigorously adjusting its inner world, but also providing users with the most intuitive changes in external beauty.
Xiaomi spent a lot of effort and carefully crafting the widget function last year. After all, this is an element that users will see every day. Intuitive and close.
Xiaomi chose to start in this area, and it will be twice the result with half the effort. The new icons can be adjusted in size, and the desktop style becomes extremely rich and interesting. Coupled with the new flower pet ornaments, users will definitely feel the specialness of MIUI 14 from the moment they pick up their phone.
▲When the press conference showed this new feature, a small highlight appeared
What remains is the upgrade and improvement of some detailed functions. Functions such as "Lamp and Tablet Sharing Keyboard and Mouse" will make Xiaomi ecological users smile; and functions such as "End-side Picture Extraction" are features that everyone can benefit from.
is easy to use and easier to use. This is the impression left by MIUI 14.
hard power, Xiaomi 13 is doing well enough
Only after writing this, we will start to talk about Xiaomi 13's "hard physique".
has experienced a delay, and Xiaomi missed the qualification to start the launch of Snapdragon 8 Gen2, but what remains unchanged is that it is still equipped with the latest flagship chip of Qualcomm , and Xiaomi 13 is no exception.
The new TSMC 4nm process technology , the new "1+4+3" core architecture, and the new Adreno GPU core form the new flagship mobile platform of Qualcomm Snapdragon.
I naturally know that everyone must be curious about it. Last Thursday, we announced the "Genshin Impact Running Score" of Xiaomi 13 in advance. In full-high image quality mode (resolution is 1920×864), frame rate is basically walking on the 60fps ceiling. The frame rate chart of
has slightly fluctuated, but it was not noticed during the game. Qualcomm Snapdragon finally passed this "score game".
▲The number of obvious frames dropped several times, which occurred in the task loading process, and it was not "falling frames"
Whether it is the actual experience during play or from the data, "Genshin Impact" is no longer a difficult bone for Qualcomm flagship mobile chips. Mihayou can even consider contributing higher-level picture quality to mobile game players, and also putting some difficulty on the next generation of mobile chips.
At 16 degrees room temperature in Guangzhou, I held Xiaomi 13 in my hand and felt warm. I was not resistant to this feeling and even wanted to play for a while.
As for energy efficiency, playing "Genshin Impact" for one hour consumed nearly 20% of Xiaomi 13's battery, and the total battery of 4500mAh can last up to 6 hours. Of course, this is an extreme battery life test for the mobile phone.
I use it as the main machine. I wake up on the morning of the weekend and use 67W fast charge to quickly recharge the battery. I go out at full charge. During the period, I don’t play games and take a walk and pat. It can be considered to be used in medium intensity. I can still use more than 10% of the battery when I go home at night. The battery life anxiety is no longer there. In addition, 67W fast charge can help Xiaomi 13 resurrect in full health within 40 minutes. I no longer feel anxious about the battery.
I use Xiaomi 13 every day, facing the 6.36-inch full HD screen on the front for the longest time, using the new E6 luminous material, the global maximum brightness reaches 1200nit, and the peak brightness reaches 1900nit. The visual fourth-class extremely narrow edge and centered holes make the visual experience excellent.
More importantly, Xiaomi 13 has such a high screen brightness , so that the content can be easily seen even under strong outdoor light. During the game, the screen brightness will not be reduced, all thanks to the excellent power consumption coordination between the screen and the chip.
With the joint efforts of the upstream and downstream, the millet that was used to piled up finally rose.
Leica certification is also the highlight of Xiaomi 13
hardware performance is only part of the capabilities of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. As Qualcomm continues to invest in images, this chip has established a higher foundation in computing photography for mobile photography.
This may be the confidence that Xiaomi dares to give the entire series "Leica image".
Xiaomi 13 Leica images are composed of multiple parts, but the most prominent of them are Leica style and master lens packages.
Leica style can be understood as a complete set of Leica imaging orientations. The style comes with it when you release the film. It is ready to take a photo. This time, the two styles are still given "Leica Classic" and "Leica Vivid". The former has a high contrast and the latter has a high saturation.
I am used to using "Leica Vivid" in daily life, which is more suitable for daily sharing. If you want to add specific emotions, you can use Leica filters to process it later in the editing function that comes with the album.
The so-called master lens package refers to the four focal lengths of 35mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 90mm on Xiaomi 13. Just click it and you can framing the view at the corresponding focal length.
. These focal lengths correspond to different needs when taking portraits. However, when I use them, it is always difficult to get a perfect background blurred portrait, so I chose to give up and use the main camera instead.
rear camera three lenses, namely 50 megapixel main camera, 12 megapixel ultra-wide angle and 10 megapixel 3.2x telephoto.
covers all focal segments, and scenes such as portraits, scenery, and macro can basically deal with them.
The more special ones are 23mm and 46mm. They are both shot by the main lens. When shooting with 23mm focal length, the phone will output a 12.5 megapixel photo in four-in-one pixel mode; when switching to 46mm, it will directly output 50 megapixels, and finally take the 12.5 megapixels in the center and output the photo after double zooming.
and 75mm uses 3.2 times telephoto shooting. Because it has OIS optical anti-shake , there is no need to worry too much about its filming rate. As long as it is not under extremely dark conditions, 75mm can successfully produce films.
As mentioned at the beginning, the previous generation of Xiaomi 12S series helped Xiaomi establish its reputation in the field of mobile imaging. In addition, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 image processing capabilities, it is difficult for Xiaomi 13 to lose.
▲The front camera selfie is also very good
In fact, its ability to produce films is really reassuring.
Xiaomi 13's night scene image performance is my more curious point. After all, under the daytime state, it is not difficult for current flagship mobile phones to deal with. So I asked my photography colleague to take Xiaomi 13 to take a photo in Guangzhou under the night sky. The following is his experience:
In the outdoor and in the dark environment with relatively sufficient light, Xiaomi 13's shooting performance is pretty good. Without clicking a clear focus point, the picture presented by the mobile phone algorithm will be brighter than the real scene. Highlight positions such as
road lights and other road lights will be processed, and the overall light ratio of the picture will be adjusted to make the pictures taken at night relatively bright, while the dark areas of the highlights will be kept as detailed as possible.
However, the current version of Xiaomi 13 still has some problems with heavy HDR traces. When the light ratio is lowered, the picture will be relatively gray, which may require further adjustments in the later stage.
In the default environment, Xiaomi 13 shooting will make the screen brighter as much as possible, and all the dark areas will be pushed up. This is also a common practice for mobile phone processing at this stage. After all, so far, AI still cannot judge what kind of light and dark position the person wants to retain in which environment.
Of course, users can adjust the screen by adjusting the exposure compensation after focusing. After the adjustment is completed, you can lock it by pressing it quickly. Xiaomi 13 responds quite quickly here.
is just the existing firmware in some environments. Xiaomi 13 will experience the exposure reduction in the early stage, but the mobile phone will bring the exposure back through post-processing. Although the photo's light ratio is changed after the improvement, this operation still looks a bit strange.
In a darker environment, Xiaomi 13's performance will be more obvious.
Press the shutter to image, you can feel the obvious improvement in the brightness of the picture, and there will be no obvious noise after enlargement, and the picture is relatively clean. The details of the tiles on the wall are basically retained, and the smearing feeling is not too obvious.
When shooting here, the table downstairs will be much darker than the picture, and the boardwalk and the wall on the upper side are almost completely black. In such a dark environment, I also used 2x to shoot, and the Xiaomi 13's picture can also be kept clean.
Although when zooming in and looking at the details, the texture of the bottom of the bottom and the stone slab next to the walkway has been blurred, considering the ambient brightness and 2x crop shooting, Xiaomi 13 performed well.
is not too extreme in outdoor environments. Xiaomi 13's shooting performance in 2x mode is pretty good. The overall performance and details of the picture are guaranteed, and there is no noise explosion in the dark. In addition, the main camera has optical anti-shake, so the shutter is not a problem if it is slower in the same scenario.
Similarly, handheld shooting using a 75mm telephoto is quite stable. The success rate of handheld shooting at 1/10s is quite high. With the details and exposure control of Xiaomi 13 on the overall screen, it is OK to use a 75mm telephoto at night.
Let me mention it a little more when it comes to shutters. Xiaomi 13 will also be relatively enterprising in low-light environments, and will reduce the shutter as much as possible to increase the amount of light inlet.
Although the picture can be kept stable, dynamic blur will still occur when shooting moving objects. Users who want to shoot this type of subject matter at night need to pay attention.
digital series accessories,
and Xiaomi 13 series also launched at the same time as xiaomi Buds 4 and xiaomi Watch S2.
xiaomi Buds 4 uses the "space capsule" type headphone box design, the overall shape is restrained and shrinking, like a green pebble.
This is the lid of this box is not easy to open.
headphone body adopts a semi-in-ear design, which lacks the isolation measures for external sounds, so its noise reduction function is closer to noise reduction rather than noise cancellation.
In noisy environments such as subways, its noise reduction is a bit overwhelming. But half-in-ear also has the benefits of half-in-ear. Compared with the in-ear style, the wearing comfort of the xiaomi Buds 4 is more than a little bit better, and it is also more universal.
priced at 699 yuan.
xiaomi Watch S2 retains the general appearance design of S1, but the buttons on the right are replaced with flat, which is a change made to add body composition analysis function.
is similar to Samsung Galaxy Watch 5. xiaomi Watch S2 can now help wearers measure body fat, skeletal muscle content, body moisture and other indicators. This is also the function I have always hoped that Apple Watch can be used, which is extremely practical for people who lose fat and gain muscle.
However, what puzzles me is that the charging method of the xiaomi Watch S2 is "degraded" to relying on contacts to charge, which means that for long-distance travel, you must bring an extra charger with a watch.
price starts at 999 yuan (42mm).
The familiar Xiaomi Digital Series formula
or above is the full picture of the new Xiaomi Digital Series set.
On Xiaomi's route of making high-end models, with the company of Pro and Ultra high-end models, the digital series is the cornerstone of Xiaomi. Without the digital series, there will be no Xiaomi today.
Fortunately, today's Xiaomi 13 phones have both performance and price. Moreover, with the support of Leica certification, the imaging capabilities are not scared to compare horizontally with competitors. It can be regarded as a powerful Xiaomi digital model in recent years.
Xiaomi phones are moving towards high-end, and the digital series has also kept pace.
