The so-called two-in-one laptop . My understanding is a tablet that installs Windows system. I believe there should be nothing wrong with this understanding. For tablets like this, Microsoft has its own surface series. However, in addition to Microsoft's home, there is a tablet that pre-installs Windows system, Huawei also launched a two-in-one laptop called MateBook E in November 2021. However, less than a year later, in September 2022, Huawei launched a new MateBook E Go, which is also a tablet for Windows systems.

In fact, this two-in-one laptop is quite attractive to some users, especially business people, because this kind of computer is not only powerful, but also very portable. Whether it is the MateBook E or the MateBook E Go, it weighs only about 710 grams, and their size is about 12.5 inches, which is very convenient and lightweight to carry, but they are different from iPads and Android tablets, that is, they have a Windows system with stronger compatibility and wider usage.

Huawei's two-in-one laptops are different from the same computers launched by Microsoft. Huawei's two-in-one laptops are obviously better used because they can achieve multi-screen collaboration with Huawei or Honor mobile phones. This is also the most optimistic point for many business people who use Hongmeng mobile phones, because it is very convenient to pass files between the mobile phones, and you can also directly operate the APP on the mobile phone on the computer, including using the computer keyboard to type and chat on the mobile phone WeChat.

So many friends may not know which one should choose to choose for the new MateBook E Go in 2022 and the 2021 MateBook E.

From the price point of view, the new MateBook E Go is cheaper than the old MateBook E. It also has a memory and hard drive capacity of 16+512. The former is currently priced at 5499, and the latter is priced at 6199 even if the version equipped with the i5-1130G7 processor, while the version equipped with the i7-1160G7 is priced at 7199. So what is the difference between these two two-in-one laptops? Let’s compare and explain the 6199 MateBook E and 5499 MateBook E Go.

First of all, their processors are different. The processor of the MateBook E of

6199 is i5-1130G7, the standard X86 architecture , which is compatible with all software programs under Windows system. The processor of the MateBook E Go of 5499 is Snapdragon 8cx Gen3, which is the same as the M1 chip of . Of course, the performance is far worse than that of M1. Currently, it is only suitable for some commonly used software, such as the office suite and some drawing tools.

i5-1130G7 is a 10nm process process, and Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 is a 5nm process process. The power consumption of the former will definitely be much higher than the latter. Therefore, due to the different processors, the two will also handle heat dissipation differently. The MateBook E has a built-in fan for heat dissipation, while the MateBook E Go does not need a fan like an ordinary tablet. Therefore, the former will have a certain degree of fan noise when running, while the latter will not generate fan noise.

If we talk about which of the two can adapt to more work scenarios, the answer is of course the MateBook E equipped with i5-1130G7 processor. Why do we say that? As mentioned earlier, the processor of MateBook E is X86 architecture, compatible with all Windows software, including large-scale modeling tools such as 3D Mark. Although it may be difficult to run, it is much better than the current MateBook E Go cannot install these large-scale design software.

However, it is still possible to install a PS for graphic design for such a tablet Windows computer, but the PS versions installed on both are different. MateBook E can be found without spending money. Just find a compatible version of Windows 11 to install and use it. However, MateBook E Go can only be installed with ARM version of PS, which must be paid to use, and other versions cannot be installed. So from the perspective of processor, these two two-in-one laptops have essential differences.

Next is the difference in the screens of the two.

Compared with the above, the screen of MateBook E Go has more advantages. It is a 2.5K resolution LCD screen that supports a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. The screen of MateBook E is an OLED screen with a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz. During use, the latter will cause users to worry about burning the screen, while the former will not. The screen of the former will have a longer service life, and the visual experience will also be smoother, because the refresh rate is 120Hz, which will definitely look more comfortable than 60Hz.

Of course, OLED screen is more energy-saving and touch control will be more sensitive. But I personally prefer LCD screens because they are naturally eye-protection.

Finally, the interfaces of the two are different.

MateBook E Go has a dual C port plus a 3.5mm headphone jack. You can charge while connecting to an external mobile hard drive and listening to music. The MateBook E Go only has a single C port plus a 3.5mm headphone jack. Charging and external hard drive cannot be performed at the same time. You need to purchase an additional dock.

However, since MateBook E is equipped with Intel processor, its single C port is an all-around high-speed interface that supports the Thunderbolt 4 protocol. Adding a corresponding dock can have more expansion functions, including charging and external displays. So there is a reason why the MateBook E is selling more expensive. If you have a better monitor, you can use the MateBook E as a host, so you don’t have to worry about burning the screen.

So after the above series of comparisons and analysis, how should we choose these two two-in-one notebooks? The author thinks that if your needs are just to deal with some daily data tables, documents, etc., then choosing MateBook E Go is enough, and it also has a high-refresh screen, so it will look more comfortable to watch a show occasionally.

But if you are exposed to some graphic design software in your daily work, it is definitely better to choose MateBook E. Some people may think that the low-power version of Intel processors such as i5-1130G7 or i7-1160G7 are not enough when dealing with design software. Then I can give you a shot of a heart attack here. I have used the i5-8250U for several years before. This is the low-power version of Intel's eighth-generation Core i5. Installing and running the latest version of PS software is not a problem at all, let alone i5-1130G7 and i7-1160G7?

Moreover, this 11th generation Core processor has better GPU performance, and it is not a problem to deal with those graphic design software. Even some 3D software or video editing software can be tried. The only thing to worry about is the cooling problem of MateBook E. It is recommended to buy a small fan to blow it in front of it. In theory, it should be OK.

objectively, however, I still do not recommend that friends who are engaged in modeling and video editing choose a two-in-one notebook like MateBook E. It is also recommended that this type of user choose a gaming notebook or a unique thin and light notebook with Core standard press version, which is more secure. So after saying so much, do you know how to choose these two two-in-one laptops?
