Sanyan Finance reported on October 1 that the humanoid robot Optimus Prime Optimus prototype was officially unveiled at the Tesla AI event in 2022. The humanoid robot is 1.72m tall and weighs 56kg. It can actually lift an object of 68kg and move at a speed of 8km/h. Musk said the robot utilizes Tesla's artificial intelligence software, as well as sensors similar to advanced driver assistance capabilities, with the same technology as the FSD beta version.
Tesla showed the handling, watering and other operations that the robot could do through a video, and said that future applications may include cooking, gardening, and even companionship.
Musk said that the humanoid robot Optimus will be mass-produced in 2023, and the future output can reach millions. It is expected that the price will be much cheaper than cars, and may be less than US$20,000 (about RMB 143,000). At the
meeting, Tesla also showed different versions of the development process of "Optimus Prime" humanoid robot.
