The mobile phone industry has not passed.
Today's market research agency Canalys released a report: the market share of smartphones in mainland China was low in Q3 2022, with shipments of 70 million units. Although the situation improved slightly compared with the second quarter, it fell 11% year-on-year.
report points out that the top five mobile phone brands are vivo, OPPO, Honor , Apple , Xiaomi , and mobile phone shipments of each mobile phone manufacturer are 14.1 million units, 12.1 million units, 12 million units, 11.3 million units, and 9 million units respectively. Compared with vivo's shipments of 13.2 million units in the previous quarter, it maintained its first market share, with a shipment increase of 900,000 units, achieving a month-on-month growth; OPPO's shipments in the second quarter were 11.8 million units, an increase of 300,000 units this quarter, and the market share increased after inventory optimization increased.
Honor shipped 13 million units in the second quarter. This quarter was affected by the few new product releases, with shipments of 12 million units, and its market share fell to third in the market; Apple and Xiaomi shipments were contrary to the previous quarter. Xiaomi and Apple ranked fourth and fifth with 10.6 million units and 9.9 million units respectively in the second quarter. The positions were reversed this quarter. Apple ranked fourth with 11.3 million units, and Xiaomi ranked fifth with 9 million units shipments.
market research agency Canalys analysts believe that Apple's shipments rose in the third quarter were mainly due to the release of Apple's iPhone 14 series models, especially the iPhone 14 Pro, which is more popular and has more consumers to buy.
The next mobile phone market prospects are still unclear. Suppliers should ensure market share with mobile phone brand manufacturers, and control the price strategy of and order inventory while meeting consumer needs, strengthen communication with partners, and help the entire industry get through the early winter.
