Before the hardware launch of Google, updates to some core Wear OS applications are underway, meaning that these applications are expected to be seen on the Pixel Watch: Phone, Fitbit and weather apps are all updated before the new wearable launch event.

Wear OS 3 smartwatch ushers in a new weather application. The app is very simple and only displays the weather at the current location of the wearer. It will display weather information from weather.com, UV index , precipitation, and forecasts for the next 8 hours and next 5 days.

Google's phone app has also been added to the Play Store on Wear OS to make app updates easier and more frequent. The phone app on Wear OS makes phone calls possible, whether it is via Bluetooth or via LTE-connected smartwatch standalone call. The Phone App UI has larger icons and larger text to better see the caller's name.
Finally, the Android version of Fitbit application has been updated with a new user interface. There are now three main tags available: Discovery, Today and Community, and the previous version of the "Advanced" tag has been removed. The Play Store list also includes some screenshots of Wear OS.

Last month, it was reported that the Fitbit application will require a Google account to be used starting next year.
