In order to diversify the supply chain and avoid over-reliance on China, it is reported that Apple plans to transfer one-quarter of iPhone production to India by 2025. JPMorgan analysts said last week that they believe that Apple will transfer about 5% of iPhone 14 production to Indian by the end of 2022.
IT Home learned that Tianfeng International analyst Min-Chi Kuo said via Twitter earlier this month that the mass production progress of iPhone 14 in India this year is still lagging behind China by about 6 weeks, and in the past, it was generally one quarter or longer.
Apple first started producing iPhones in India in 2017, namely iPhone SE. In April this year, Apple announced that it had begun to produce iPhone 13 smartphones in India. Previously, some iPhones were assembled by Foxconn in local factories, while the other part was assembled by Wistron Zitong in factories.
In addition, Bloomberg revealed earlier this month that India's leading company Tata Group is negotiating with Taiwan supplier Wistron, China, hoping to establish a joint venture to assemble Apple's iPhone phone in India.
