Meteor Lake CPU has just welcomed the latest support for Intel Graphics Compiler (IGC) and revealed the Xe-HPG (Arc Alchemist) core display that will be enabled on the chip soon. First of all, according to Pete Chou’s latest code submission, Intel’s 14th generation CPU will be the first to use the same Tiled-GPU graphics architecture (tGPU) as the company’s independent graphics product line.

code refers to this as "Xe_MTL". Interestingly, Coelacanth Dream discovered that Meteor Lake CPUs do not have DPAS instructions - meaning they do not contain the XMX unit used by XeSS.
This feature is crucial for AI-powered technology, and the experience is similar to the AI upgraded version of NVIDIA's DLSS technology. To compensate, Meteor Lake CPUs feature an VPU visual processing unit.
foreign media speculate that it may provide some form of reasoning capabilities (or help XeSS), but the related processing still relies on the main GPU chip to complete.
Second, the code commit lists the tGPU as having "partial support" for FP64 double-precision computing -- Intel removed FP64 and Int64 support from the Gen 11 architecture, but it's expected to return with next year's 14th-gen Meteor Lake chips.
As for the Tiled-GPU used on Meteor Lake CPU, it should be a new core display architecture - neither iGPU nor dGPU, but a next-generation graphics engine (Next-Gen Graphice Engine).
It is foreseeable that, thanks to the new Xe-HPG graphics architecture, Meteor Lake CPU can achieve higher efficiency with the same energy consumption.
DirectX 12 Ultimate and XeSS support, which is currently limited to the Alchemist product line, is also expected to be further popularized on the Meteor Lake platform.
