[CNMO News] Recently, a member of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) called on Apple and Google to remove Tik Tok from their app stores. He compared the social media platform to "clothing A wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

U.S. Federal Communications Commission chief Republican Commissioner Brendan Carr gave Apple CEO Cook and Google CEO Sundar Pichai (Sundar Pichai) on June 28, local time. Wrote an open letter. In the open letter, he urged the two companies to ban Tik Tok from their respective app markets because it "obtains large amounts of sensitive data" from American users.
Carr's letter quoted extensively from BuzzFeed a recent report that stated that Tik Tok employees in China were suspected of illegally accessing the data of American users. Carr said the app's video features were just its "sheepskin," writing: "Tik Tok violates the privacy policy by collecting everything from search and browsing history to biometric information, including facial fingerprints and voiceprints. Therefore, I Ask you to remove this software from the app store because it fails to comply with various treaties.”
BuzzFeed’s report mentioned leaked audio from a meeting in September 2021, in which a member of Douyin. Any Bytedance Chinese engineer has “access to everything,” employees said.
A few hours before the report was released, TikTok announced that it had migrated US user data to domestic servers operated by Oracle .
