On the night, I checked the composition of my fifth-grade son. I saw this article "Hunter Hailibu". Although I have heard of all the stories, I feel different when I see them now. Let me put the essay briefly described by my child here:
"Hunter Hailibu"
Once upon a time, there was a hunter named Hailibu. He was enthusiastic to help others and everyone respected him very much.
One day, Hailibu rescued a little white snake while going to hunt in the mountains. The little white snake was the daughter of the Dragon King. If she wanted to repay Hailibu, she gave Hailibu a gem that could understand the animal's words and told him that he could only know what the animal said, otherwise it would turn into a stone. After hearing her words, Hailibu went home with the gem.
A few years later, he went to hunt in the mountains as usual, and suddenly he heard a group of birds talking, saying that the mountains were about to collapse tonight and the flood would flood the earth.
He was shocked after hearing this and quickly returned home, anxiously asking the villagers to move away, but the villagers did not move, and no one believed his words. Hailibu was so anxious that she shed tears and persuaded the villagers to move away again. The villagers were a little shaken, but they still felt that moving was a big deal for them and they should not act rashly.
Hailibu saw that everyone still didn’t believe in themselves. After thinking for a while, he calmed down and told everyone that tonight, the mountains will collapse and the flood will flood the earth. Everyone move away quickly! He also told the truth about how to get the gem, how he heard a flock of birds discussing refuge, and why he could not tell others what he heard. He turned into a stone as soon as he finished speaking.
Everyone regrets that Hailibu turns into a stone. They left their village.
In the middle of the night, the flood flooded the earth and the villagers were saved.
Hailibu has been commemorated by people for generations.
Although this is a myth, it can also be said to be a legend. In real life, everyone will definitely not believe that such a thing is happening, and they will inevitably ask him to provide sufficient evidence. From this perspective, the villagers are right.
But what this fairy tale wants to tell us is that sometimes the truth is often in the hands of a few people, and many times few people really listen, listen to the other person's hearts, and listen to the voices of all things in the world. Rather than saying that Hailibu has such ability, it is better to say that Hailibu has such a mind. He can hold all things in his heart, save the little white snake, and understand the voices of all living things and creatures. Therefore, he is familiar with the changes in the world, but how many people really understand it. By the time they understand, it was too late. What touches people about this story is Hailibu's mind, selflessness of self-sacrificing oneself and kindness of all things. The story has been passed down for so long, which shows that everyone is eager and hopes to have such kindness and selflessness in their hearts.
