The fifteenth story One of the strange and chaotic gods: TaiheThe father of Su Kui, the magistrate of Taihe

Su Kui, Puzhou, was born as a Jinshi, passed the second-class examination of Emperor Taizong, and was transferred to the magistrate of Taihe County in Jizhou by Tingwei. Su Kui's father passed away many years ago.

There was a Jizhou Yamen general who escorted Chao Gang to return to Beijing. He walked to Huangmei County ( Huanggang ) and stayed in a hotel. In the evening, an old man in black clothes, wearing a short turban, riding a donkey, and a boy servant of sixteen or seventeen years old came to stay in the shop. After wandering around for a long time, I came to the state general's house again. After bowing, I sat down and chatted, saying that I was visiting relatives in Taihe County . The state general said: "I am from Jizhou. I work as a yamen general in the state capital. I came back from the capital and now I am going back to Jizhou to accompany the old man. How about it?" He then asked the old father: "Who are the relatives in Taihe County?" The old father replied: "My surname is Su, and I have a son named Su Kui. Fortunately, he won the Jinshi. I am the magistrate of Taihe County. I just visit him and have no other relatives." The state general was happy to hear this and said: "The magistrate of Taihe County, In the same year as Honshu Tongpan Xiang Minzhong , I was working under Xiang Tongpan. I took you to Taihe County and asked you to mention my name to the county magistrate. "The old man agreed happily. . That night, the state general called for wine and food, drank more than a dozen cups with the old man, and fell asleep happily.

We set off together the next day. Zhou would spend money on meals on the way, and the old man did not refuse. A few days later, we crossed the river and arrived at jiangzhou (jiujiang). The old man bought wine and invited the state generals to drink with them, chatting and laughing as if they were old friends. When we arrived at Hongzhou ( Nanchang ), we stayed in a hotel for the night. As we were about to leave the next day, the old man said to the general: "We originally agreed to go to Taihe County together. After thinking about it last night, I realized that my son is from the capital. Magistrate, my luggage is thin and my clothes are simple. I would like to ask you to go to Taihe County first and report to my son. Let him prepare new clothes and bring his servants and horses to pick me up along the way." The general heard this and was pleased. He agreed: "That's fine, I'll take my leave and go ahead."

After Jizhou Yamen arrived home, he ignored the business of returning to the state Yamen and went to Taihe County to report to Suzhi County. When Su Kui heard that someone was looking for him, he hurried out. The state general saluted respectfully and said, "I came back from Huangmei County with my respected father. We originally agreed to come to Taihe County together. After staying in Hongzhou for one night, my respected father suddenly changed his mind. Let me report to you first, asking you to make new clothes and bring servants and horses to meet you along the way." When Su Kui heard this, he couldn't believe it and said, "My father passed away more than ten years ago, right? "The state general said: "We came from Huangmei County on the same road, shared the same food, and told us in detail along the way that you were appointed magistrate of Taihe County, and I came here to see you. It's not wrong." Su Kui asked the state general about his age, appearance, and body shape. , there is no difference; and it is also correct to ask what clothes to wear and what kind of headscarf to wear. Su Kui descended to the steps and cried loudly in the direction of his hometown. After that, he slowly said to the state general: "When my father passed away, his age, appearance, and clothes were exactly the same." After that, he fell to the ground and cried. So he sewed new clothes, painted servants and horses, and watched the countryside burn.

A few years later, Su Kui also died. What on earth were the donkeys and servants that his old father rode on? Is it a ghost or a god? At that time, Xiang Minzhong was the general magistrate of Jizhou, and Zhang Qixian was the transshipment envoy to the south of the Yangtze River. He understood the matter clearly, so he wrote it down, so there is no suspicion of strange language.
