Recently, the 6th edition of Guide2Research's annual ranking of top computer scientists was released!
This list has a history of 5 years.
This ranking reviewed various academic indicators of more than 6000 scientists around the world, and selected the top 1000 top scientists. The ranking is based on the Google Scholar H-index index collected before May 16, and also combines DBLP and citation value (h index needs to be >=40). The Chinese University Rankings have conducted preliminary statistics on the world’s top TOP1000 computer scientists undergraduates in 2020. China University of Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, and Peking University alumni rank in the top three, with 15, 10, and 7 outstanding alumni winning This honor. Among the top ten colleges and universities, the C9 alliance colleges and universities occupy 7!
Among the top 20 people, there are many AI experts, Hinton and Bengio. Among them, there are over 140 Chinese scholars, 45 Chinese scientists, and 22 mainland scientists. Compared to 18 years, the total number has doubled!
American scholars still dominate, with a total of 616 scientists, accounting for 61.6% of the total. Other leading countries are the UK 55, Germany 38, Canada 37 and Switzerland 34. Asian scientists have grown significantly, with 55 scientists on the list in 2020, compared to 37 in 2018.
