China Youth Daily Client Beijing, October 30 (China Youth Daily·China Youth Network reporter Qiu Chenhui) The reporter learned from the Chinese Academy of Sciences today that the Exploration No. 2 scientific research ship with the "Deep Sea Warrior" manned submersible completed a series of sea trial tasks and has returned to Sanya a few days ago. During the sea trial, scientific researchers successfully set up large-depth in-situ scientific experimental stations on the seabed, which will achieve long-term unmanned scientific research in the deep sea.
sea trial research team introduced that setting up an in-situ scientific experimental station on the seabed is equivalent to moving the testing and analysis instruments of the land laboratory to the seabed as a whole. Compared with the traditional ocean survey method that takes samples from the seabed and gets tested in land laboratories, conducting scientific experiments in the deep sea can avoid damage or missing sample data caused by environmental changes.

According to reports, the voyage was implemented by 10 units and institutions including Institute of Deep Sea Science and Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The main task is to carry out the sea trial tasks of the series of equipment developed by the Institute of the Institute of Deep Sea Science and Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences . Their strategic pilot science and technology special project "Deep Sea/Abyss Intelligent Technology and Subsea In-situ Science Experiment Station", as well as the key technology verification work for related projects of the National Key R&D Plan. The participating equipment includes submarine base stations, in-situ laboratories, gliders and other types of equipment.
The in-situ scientific experimental station system arranged this time will work independently on the seabed, and can conduct its own status monitoring and intelligent management. All data will be regularly transmitted back to the shore-based control center through the deep-sea glider relay communication, and scientific researchers can also remotely control the in-situ scientific experimental station; this sea trial also implemented the underwater joint operation of the "Deep-Sea Warrior" manned submersible , and the submarine base station and the in-situ laboratory were connected through the "Deep-Sea Warrior" manned submersible.
research team introduced that the in-situ scientific experimental station is equipped with a megawatt-hour lithium battery energy system, achieving a new breakthrough in energy density. The system will provide long-term energy supply for experimental systems such as high-performance sensing detection equipment carried by in-situ laboratories, and support the intelligent detection and in-situ experiments under unmanned and uncable conditions.
follow-up, the in-situ scientific experimental station will also be connected to more intelligent unmanned experiments, detection and information transmission systems to achieve long-term unmanned scientific research in the deep sea.
