Taipei giant panda "Tuantuan" is suspected of suffering from malignant brain tumors. Two mainland experts who provided assistance have arrived in Taiwan to visit "Tuantuan ".
According to Taiwan's United Daily News on November 1, mainland experts Wu Honglin and Wei Ming sent by the China Giant Panda Protection Research Center have arrived at Taoyuan Airport on November 1. As soon as they got off the plane, they went straight to Taipei City Zoo to visit the "Tuantuan" and "Yuanyuan" family. At the same time, they are expected to hold a press conference on November 2 to explain to the public.

Taipei Zoo said that mainland expert Wu Honglin is a senior engineer who has been engaged in giant panda disease prevention and control, scientific research and reproduction, etc. Wu Honglin has been working at the China Giant Panda Protection Research Center of the Wolong Nature Reserve Administration in July 2001, and has been transferred to the China Giant Panda Protection Research Center in 2016. Another expert, Wei Ming, is also a senior engineer. He has worked at the China Giant Panda Protection Research Center of the Wolong Nature Reserve Administration in 2001. He has been transferred to the China Giant Panda Protection Research Center in 2016 and has been good at giant panda breeding and management and artificial child care work.


The mainland gave Taiwan giant pandas "Tuantuan" and "Yuanyuan" to Taiwan in 2008 and settled in Taipei City Zoo. In August this year, the park found that "Tuantuan" had symptoms of epilepsy seizure . After two MRI examinations, the lesion area was found to be significantly enlarged. Regarding the condition of "Tuantuan", the park has been maintaining close communication with Wolong Giant Panda Breeding Center .
