Bacteria are still moving in that direction. After measurement, it was found that the bacteria were shifting southward, but I don’t know why they shifted in that direction.
by chance Dr. Moore thought that pigeons could navigate themselves through Earth magnetic field , so he quickly took a magnet and placed it next to the microscope.
In observation, Dr. Moore found that the bacteria actually shifted to the north pole of the magnet.
Therefore, he came to the conclusion that bacteria are magnetic and they will shift under the action of Earth's magnetic pole .

After many people's research, I finally found in the Institute of Microbiology, Russian Academy of Sciences that some bacteria can absorb some magnetic ions, and these magnetic ions gradually shift them.
Then the question comes again, will the bacteria only shift in one direction? Can it shift to the north?
After repeated efforts by scientists, the scientists went to the northern hemisphere to do the test.
It turns out that bacteria move symmetrically, just like people shift slightly in one direction in the southern hemisphere, and most of the bacteria in the northern hemisphere face north.
