Tianshan Net (reporter Cao Hua) The reporter learned from the Autonomous Region Forestry and Grassland Bureau that recently, the "Catalogue of Key Protected Wild Animals in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (Revised)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Catalogue") was released, and a total of 56 species of wild animals were included, including 18 species of first-level key protected wild animals in the autonomous region and 38 species of second-level key protected wild animals in the autonomous region.
my country implements classified and hierarchical protection of wild animals. The list of local key protected wild animals is formulated, adjusted and published by the people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government. In 1994, our region released the "Catalogue of Key Protected Wild Animals in the Autonomous Region". In 2019, the "Catalogue of Key Protected Aquatic Wild Animals in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region" was released. These two lists played a positive role in protecting and managing wild animal resources and ecological environment.
In 2021, my country released the newly adjusted " National Key Protected Wild Animals List ". In order to maintain the adaptation to the "National Key Protected Wild Animals List", and combined with the changes in Xinjiang's wildlife resources and the recent resource survey results and scientific research results, the Autonomous Region Forestry and Grassland Bureau and the Autonomous Region Agriculture and Rural Affairs Department jointly carried out the adjustment of the "Automatic Region Key Protected Wild Animals List". For species whose population distribution range is reduced, population number is on the decline, and whose population is not included in the national key protection scope, the list will be given priority to the list; wild animal species facing serious habitat damage and risk of dangerous factors such as edible medicinal or ornamental human capture will also be included in the "Category", such as Bailing , scorpion, silk butterfly, etc.
After retaining, adding and drawing up the species that have been upgraded to national key protection, 56 wild animals were finally included in the "Catalogue", including 18 first-level key protected wild animals in the autonomous region, 38 second-level key protected wild animals in the autonomous region; 17 aquatic wild animals and 39 terrestrial wild animals.
It is understood that after the release of the new "Catalogue", the original "Catalogue of Key Protected Wild Animals in the Autonomous Region" and the "Catalogue of Key Protected Aquatic Wild Animals in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region" were abolished at the same time.
