Chang'e 6 lunar probe is used as a backup of Chang'e 5 . Although it is planned to perform a lunar landing mission in 2024, and the missions performed are very similar to those of Chang'e 5 before, both of which have completed lunar soil collection and return work. However, as a backup, Chang'e 6 adopted a multi-national cooperation model that was completely different from Chang'e 5 since the beginning. For example, the China National Space Administration had announced earlier that the Chang'e 6 project will be equipped with different lunar landing equipment from France, Russia, Sweden , Saudi , Netherlands , and Germany.
Many people don’t understand why when China first implemented the Chang’e lunar exploration project, many European and American countries mocked China, saying that China’s aerospace technology is weak and it is impossible to complete the moon landing, lunar sampling, and even the final manned moon landing. Many countries also followed the United States and introduced some policy measures that refused to carry out any aerospace research with China.
But now China is willing to ignore past grudges. After relying on its own strength to complete the "orbiting and falling back" one after another, it is willing to invite many countries with high interest in the moon to participate in the Chang'e-6 moon landing plan developed as a backup. During the Chang'e-4 mission, these four countries had already seen the unprecedented true face of the moon through in-depth aerospace cooperation with China.
