Wang Zelin joined Henan Agricultural University in 1984 and was the director of the Poultry Disease Research Institute of Agricultural University. He took the lead in developing high-efficiency concentrated multi-conjugate vaccines for poultry in China, established a research and development technology platform for multi-concentrated high-efficiency concentrated vaccines, screened and cultivated a series of excellent virus strains suitable for the development of poultry combined vaccines, and solved the long-term problems that have plagued my country's poultry breeding industry. In order to solve the problem of low vaccine immunity in the poultry industry, the 12 new veterinary drug products created were mass-produced by 16 well-known domestic biological products companies, with a 100% conversion rate.

At the beginning of 2020, Professor Wang Zelin donated 82.08 million yuan of his lifetime scientific research achievement conversion fee to the school to build a high-level biosafety protection level three laboratory (P3 laboratory ). Despite his billions in wealth, Professor Wang Zelin has been frugal and simple in his life. He still lives in an old building that has been built for decades. He rides an electric bicycle to and from the old and new campuses. In 2020, Professor Wang Zelin was awarded the Henan Province Science and Technology Outstanding Contribution Award and received a bonus of 3 million yuan.
