He also said that nanotechnology is a cross-integrated underlying technology. Among them, nano-engineering, as the core technology of major engineering applications, has already been used in many practical applications in life. For example, liposome nanocarriers have become the core technology of the new crown vaccine, which is the carrier that delivers mRNA into cells.

Zhao Yuliang said that China's nanotechnology has led the world in basic research and applied basic research, and has a solid foundation to achieve major 0-1 breakthroughs. For example, my country has obtained many patents in the fields of limit measurement, nano-catalysis, and nano-energy.

Zhao Yuliang said that the technological innovation chain can be divided into 9 levels. Among them, level 1-3 are basic research and original innovation, which are mainly completed by universities and research institutes; level 6-9 are products and markets, and enterprises are the backbone of operation. The 4-6 level of the intermediate link is the transfer and transformation of scientific research results. "Our current task is to transform the'personal capabilities' of nanotechnology scientists into'national capabilities." Zhao Yuliang said bluntly that my country's nanotechnology still has a long way to go in the transfer and transformation of scientific research results at levels 4-6.

The dean of the National Institute of Nano Technology Innovation in Guangdong, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau is another identity of Zhao Yuliang.
