Lead triiodide methionate (FAPbI3) Perovskite solar cells (PSC) are mainly fabricated by sequentially coating lead iodide and formamidine hydroiodide, or coating all components dissolved in one solution in one solvent (one-pot method). PSCs produced by both methods showed similar efficiencies. However, their long-term stability is significantly different.

On April 8, 2021, Sang Il Seok and Tae Joo Shin of the National Institute of Science and Technology, Ulsan, South Korea, published a joint communication online at Nature Energy (IF=46.50) entitled "Stabilization of formamidinium lead triiodide α-phase with isopropylammonium chloride for perovskite cells solar ” research paper, which found that the main reason is that the isopropylammonium cation produced by the chemical reaction between the isopropanol (used as a solvent) and methylammonium chloride added during the process stabilizes α -FAPbI3 phase. On this basis, this study prepared PSCs by adding isopropylammonium chloride to the perovskite precursor solution for a one-pot method, and achieved a certified power conversion efficiency of 23.9%.

However, on May 6, 2021, an errata was published for this article : In the version originally published by of this article , the statement " equals contribution" is missing and should be changed to "these authors Equal contributions: Byung-wook Park, Hyoung Woo Kwon."; this has been added to all versions of the article.
