Peng Shengquan is from Boyang County, Jiangxi Province. He was born in a family of traditional Chinese medicine in 1939. Later, he grew up to be the chief professor, doctoral supervisor of of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, famous traditional Chinese medicine doctor in Guangdong Province, and the academic heir supervisor of famous old traditional Chinese medicine experts in the country. Since 1992, he has enjoyed special allowance from the State Council and has been rated as "advanced worker" and "outstanding party member" many times. In 1982, he was awarded the title of "Advanced Worker in Guangdong Province" and in 1993, he was awarded the honorary title of "National Outstanding Teacher".
Peng Shengquan practiced medicine for generations in his family, and had clear historical records for more than 100 years. By the time he was the fifth generation. Peng Shengquan's academic expertise has a very deep connection with family medicine. In 1958, Peng Shengquan was admitted to the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Medical Sciences of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Here, he was taught by famous Guangdong doctors such as Luo Yuankai, Huang Yaoyan, Liu Shichang, Deng Tietao, and other experts and professors, fully absorbing the academic thoughts and clinical experience of all famous masters. In 1964, he graduated with excellent grades and stayed at school to teach. In 1978, he established the Warm Disease Teaching and Research Department and served as the director, specializing in the teaching, scientific research and clinical work of Warm Disease.
"Warm Diseases" has always been the main course of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, but the teaching effect is not very ideal. After Peng Shengquan became the director of the Warm Disease Teaching and Research Department, he first put forward suggestions on institutional reform to the school. After careful research, the school entrusted him with the important task of reform. Professor Peng summarized the idea of "bold reform and return to clinical practice" for the first time. After years of hard work, the system reform and adjustment was finally achieved in 1985.
At the same time, a special area for warm disease was established in the affiliated hospital, effectively changing the situation where warm disease teaching is divorced from reality and effectively overcoming the difficult situation of understanding abstract teaching. It pioneered a new system of warm disease teaching, medicine and research, and won the first prize of Guangdong Province Excellent Teaching Achievement Award and the National Excellent Achievement Award for Higher Education Teaching Research in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Since 1986, Peng Shengquan proposed that this discipline should take the study of Lingnan warm disease theory as his main focus. After twelve years of hard work, it has achieved great success. Since then, warm disease has truly adapted to the characteristics of Lingnan, and Lingnan has finally had its own warm disease. The Lingnan warm disease research team formed by his group has received high attention from the country, and it has been included in the research team of the National Natural Science Foundation for key projects in the 11th Five-Year Plan and won the first prize of the progress of traditional Chinese medicine science and technology. Professor Peng Shengquan also serves as an advisor to the project of the National Science and Technology Support Program.
Professor Peng not only inherits the traditional warm disease science, but is able to develop through inheritance and dare to put forward his own opinions. In 1996, he edited the "Warm Diseases" unified textbook for traditional Chinese medicine in ordinary universities across the country, and proposed a new theory of the theory of temperature swelling, which was widely recognized by the industry.
Professor Peng pays great attention to clinical practice. After years of accumulation and summary, he has formed his own unique experience in the treatment of encephalopathy with warm disease theory, developed prescriptions No. 1, 2 and 3, and used aromatic orifice method to treat infectious encephalitis, cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage and cerebral hemorrhage , saving the functions of a large number of patients with cephalopathy and won the third prize of Guangdong Province Science and Technology Progress.
Once, he saw a stroke patient. At that time, Western medicine believed that the surgery could no longer be performed, and even the surgery was at great risk, and it was very likely that he would become a vegetative person. The family members were unwilling to give up, so they found Peng Shengquan. After careful diagnosis and treatment, Professor Peng added and subtracted the patient based on the self-developed No. 3 prescription, and at the same time, he adopted the "opening of viscera and purging heat and stasis method" specifically for patients with acute coma caused by severe craniocerebral injury and cerebrovascular diseases, which reduced intracranial high pressure and effectively promoted the patient's awakening. Later, through the treatment of emergency conditioning by traditional Chinese medicine, the condition was stabilized and met the surgical indications. The operation was finally smooth, and the postoperative rehabilitation effect was very good.
Professor Peng has published more than 50 academic papers and edited the national unified textbook "Warm Diseases", "Advanced Traditional Chinese Medicine Series·Warm Diseases", "Lingnan Warm Disease Research and Clinical", "Practical Manual for Emergency in Traditional Chinese Medicine", etc.
