Case 1 is a Chinese national who works in the United States. He departed from the United States and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 30, 2022. After entering customs, he was placed under centralized quarantine for observation, during which he developed symptoms. Based on the epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory testing and imaging examination results, a confirmed case was diagnosed.
Cases 2 and 3 are both Chinese nationals, Case 4 is German, Case 2 is studying in Germany, Case 3 is studying in the UK, Case 4 is working in Germany, Cases 2 and 4 traveled from Germany, and Case 3 traveled from the UK. After transiting through Germany, Cases 2 to 4 took the same flight and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 1, 2022. After entering customs, they were quarantined and observed, during which symptoms appeared. A confirmed case was diagnosed based on the epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory test and imaging test results, etc.
Case 5 is a Chinese national who was visiting relatives in the United States. He departed from the United States and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on September 3, 2022. After entering customs, he was quarantined for observation and developed symptoms. A confirmed case was diagnosed based on the epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory test and imaging test results, etc.
5 imported confirmed cases from abroad have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 89 close contacts on the same flight have been traced, and all of them have been placed under centralized isolation and observation.
