Recently, the Emergency Department of the First People's Hospital of Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou encountered a patient who took medicine to fight new crown by himself, and almost caused a big disaster. On the day of the incident, when the patient Ms. Hu was sent to the emergency room, her blood pressure was 74/37, and she suffered from rash and itching throughout her body, her eyes and face were red and swollen, and her eyes, shortness of breath, and abdominal pain. The situation was very urgent. After a comprehensive examination by Dr. Li Zhen of the emergency department, Ms. Hu was initially diagnosed with allergic shock.

It turned out that two days before the incident, Ms. Hu's husband and daughter caught a cold. They were worried that they had been infected with the new coronavirus, but they did not dare to do nucleic acid test for , so they started taking the medicine on their own. Ms. Hu took two drugs, Tylenol and Whifining at the same time. Half an hour after taking the medicine, he felt discomfort and was taken to the hospital emergency room by his family. Due to the timely rescue, Ms. Hu's various indicators returned to normal and she was discharged safely.

Why can’t Tylenol and Whifeining take the two drugs at the same time?
In response to this, Hu Piao, director of the Infectious Disease Department of the First People's Hospital of Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou, said: "Ms. Hu took the same medicine, and most of the ingredients are the same. The patient not only overdoses the medicine, but also has drug allergies."
Doctor reminds: Don't take medicine randomly
Don't panic too much about the new coronavirus. If there are no symptoms, don't take medicine randomly. The medicine cannot treat everyone's panic. The appropriate medication should be selected based on the symptoms that appear. For the same symptom, it is not recommended to take multiple drugs at the same time. Increasing the dosage or combination of multiple drugs without authorization will not only not accelerate the improvement of the disease, but will easily lead to overdose of the drug or cause side effects.
For example, compound cold medicines, most common cold medicines on the market are compound preparations containing multiple ingredients, and the ingredients are basically similar or the same. Using two cold medicines at the same time can lead to adverse reactions such as liver damage due to excessive amounts.
It should be noted that many Chinese patent medicines and compound cold medicines contain acetaminophen , the antipyretic component. Blind superposition of use can easily lead to overdose of drugs. In daily life, citizens can reduce the risk of infection by getting vaccinated, washing hands frequently, wearing masks and other measures.
