Fujian has always been a high incidence area of liver disease and liver cancer . However, in the past, the medical team and technical strength in the treatment of liver disease in Fujian were relatively weak. Patients often had to go abroad to undergo liver cancer resection and liver transplant surgery, which was very inconvenient. After returning to Fujian after studying abroad, Liu Jingfeng and his colleagues were brave enough to explore and innovate continuously, gradually making the prevention and treatment and research level of liver disease and liver cancer in our province reach the forefront of the country, changing the situation in the past when patients needed to go to to seek medical treatment in other places for .

Seeing this situation, as a Fujian native, the "father of Chinese hepatobiliary surgery" , Wu Mengchao, attached great importance to it and suggested to the provincial party committee and the provincial government many times that people should be sent to Shanghai to learn liver surgery technology. Under this opportunity, Liu Jingfeng, who was working in the general surgery department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University at that time, obtained the opportunity to become the first doctor in our province to go to Shanghai to study liver surgery. , Liu Jingfeng came to Wuhan again to pursue his doctoral degree with Academician Qiu Fazu, the "father of modern Chinese surgery" , Qiu Fazu, and Academician Chen Xiaoping, the chairman of the International Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Association. He also received postdoctoral training at the Texas Liver Disease Center in the United States to study liver transplantation.
Since 1999, Liu Jingfeng and his colleagues have begun to build the first liver surgery center in our province, establish and improve the liver surgery technology system with liver cancer as the main target and the liver transplant technology system with terminal liver disease as the main target. "To build a new system, everything starts from scratch." Liu Jingfeng said with emotion. When he first returned to his hometown, everything was a problem for the construction of funds, medical equipment, and talent teams, and they had to find a way.
Since 2004, he has led his team to take the lead in the country to explore the establishment of a comprehensive hospital liver disease center, changing the situation where patients were scattered in different clinical departments in the past and could not achieve comprehensive diagnosis and treatment and full disease cycle management.
In 2011, he began to build Meng Chao Hepatobiliary Hospital of Fujian Medical University. With the care and support of the government and the joint efforts of everyone, it has now developed into an important platform in the field of liver and gallbladder disease prevention and treatment and research in my country. The service capabilities have been significantly enhanced, which has changed the situation of patients seeking medical treatment in other places.
Liu Jingfeng continues to explore and innovate in the field of medical and health. If he was not careful, all his previous efforts might be wasted." Liu Jingfeng said that he was always alert to the changes in the patient's condition. Whenever the patient was in a situation, his nerves became very tense. Fortunately, the patient finally survived the difficulties and is still alive.
Overcoming difficulties and doing a good job of "what comes before you", Liu Jingfeng has always been sticking to it. "As Academician Qiu Fazu once said, you must be content in life, know your shortcomings in doing things, and don't be content in your studies." Liu Jingfeng believes that knowing your shortcomings in doing things means pursuing perfection.
