With such a favorable offer, all government colleagues signed up to study for on-the-job postgraduate studies, but Grandpa Dolly remained indifferent. At that time, Grandma Dolly mobilized and encouraged him to sign up many times but ignored them. Grandma Dolly once signed him up in a provocative way, but he refused to take the exam, wasting the 500 yuan registration fee.
Grandpa Dolly has only experienced this unit in her life. Many people born in the 1980s and 1990s are not willing to work in agricultural research units. They think that the Academy of Agricultural Sciences is just a wage farmer. To work, they go to the experimental field or go to towns and villages to plant wheat, corn, vegetables, etc. Everyone joked about asking passers-by where the Academy of Agricultural Sciences is? Passers-by said: Ah! You are looking for those working in the northeast corner to farm... Haha! Therefore, many young people with quick minds have transferred their jobs to well-known companies to make more money. Some were transferred to tax bureaus and township, county, city and provincial governments to pursue official careers. Only Grandpa Dolly remained where she was. Every day I go to the experimental field to grow vegetables and go to the countryside to guide vegetable farmers in scientific planting. It goes on like this over and over again, year after year, and I have stayed in the current unit for a lifetime. The only thing I have done in 38 years is to study vegetables. When he was about to retire, he was finally promoted to agricultural extension researcher.
However, most people in the system are just like Grandpa Dolly, working in the same unit for an ordinary life until retirement.
