Huainan is a prefecture-level city under Anhui Province. Currently, in my country's urban division, Huainan is a type 2-type big city. In ancient times, Huainan was called Zhoulai. Huainan City was an important energy city in East my country, and it was also an important national energy economy and a central city in northern Anhui. At present, the city has a total of 5 districts and two counties, with a total area of ​​more than 5,000 square kilometers and a permanent population of about 3 million.

So how did Huainan step by step in history to form the current district scale?

As early as the pre-Qin period, some small countries were established in Huainan, including states, Cai and other countries. By , during the Warring States Period, , , ruled this area. Later, Qin Dynasty unified the six countries to set up county system , and Huainan belonged to Jiujiang County .

At that time, there were two counties in Huainan, namely Shouchun County and Quyang County. During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Shouchun County was briefly renamed and was called Shouyang County. During the Republic of China, Shouchun County was renamed Shouxian , which has continued to this day.

During the Tang Dynasty period, Huainan County was renamed to Shouzhou . The jurisdiction has become larger than before. Some places in Lu'an City are also within the jurisdiction of Huainan. There was no big change during the Northern Song Dynasty period. The only change was the capital, and Shouzhou was transferred to Cai County.

During the Ming Dynasty period, there was only one Shouzhou in Huainan territory. It was under the jurisdiction of Fengyang Prefecture . Previously, Anfeng Road was renamed Shouchun Prefecture by Zhu Yuanzhang .

During the Qing Dynasty period, most parts of Huainan City were still under the jurisdiction of Fengyang Prefecture. In 1733, a county was set up called Fengtai County , which was the beginning of Fengtai County's administrative construction.

In the early days of the Republic of China, Shouzhou was renamed Shouxian and Fengtai County were under the jurisdiction of Huaisi Road. In 1927, the road system was abolished and the counties were directly under the jurisdiction of the province.

In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Huainan Coal Mine Special Administrative Region was established in 1949, and then it was renamed to Huainan Mine Area. In 1951, it was upgraded to Huainan City. At that time, Huainan City was still a county-level city. In 1952, Huainan City was upgraded to a provincial city.

In 2015, Shou County of Lu'an City was given jurisdiction. So far, the overall zoning area of ​​Huainan City has been determined. Why is Huainan not developing well?

First of all, Huainan’s location is average and transportation is average, and it does not have a solid foundation and its industrial structure is relatively single.Huainan became famous because coal mines were developed in the late Qing Dynasty, and they became popular only in the early days of the founding of the Republic of China. However, after reform and opening up , it did not attract enough talents due to its insufficient population and its resources. Moreover, in the early days, there was no Shou County. Take the large-scale development of Shannan in Huainan for example. The effect of large-scale development was not very good. Many enterprises ended hastily, leaving behind a mess, and many unfinished projects have not been improved. Hefei then rose.

After Huainan took over Shou County, Huainan could not lead a large county with a population of one million. The only thing Anhui has the strength to drive is Hefei. In the long run, it depends on the industry. First, develop basic transportation facilities, and then improve the investment environment, it can take off.
